Avoid a specific road
I've seen a number of posts regarding this, and myself have wanted this on various occasions for a number of different reasons. The alternatives (avoid highway, avoid toll, avoid dirt) are useful in many cases, but there are also many cases where they simply don't serve the actual need.
For example, this reddit post (https://www.reddit.com/r/waze/comments/6vfd6m/can_i_stop_waze_from_rerouting_or_select_a/) is from a user that wants to specifically avoid the Capital Beltway (I-495). Not because it's a highway, and not because of a perceived inability for Waze to determine traffic, but just as a personal preference. As another example, sometimes when driving through D.C. or Baltimore, I find myself wanting to avoid certain local roads at night time, specifically ones where the street lights are not working. There are many personal preference reasons one might have to want to avoid a specific road! And hearing things like "you can use this other option" is usually not helpful, because the asker of the question has already explored the menu and found those options!
There are a couple ways this could be presented to the user. In the settings menu, I could see a list of roads you want to avoid, and a button to add a road, which takes you to the map, possible with a search option. Maybe when navigating the map normally, one of the things a long-press gets you is the ability to mark a road to avoid. Maybe when you are presented with a list of directions, you can swipe away a turn to indicate you don't want to go onto that road, and you're then asked "this trip only / this and all future trips?"
This is getting long-winded. It suffices to say I've thought about this a lot and would like to see this feature. Thanks for reading.

Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

In Europe certain roads are not allowed to certain type of cars. So this would totally be recommended
Some people use the “motorbike” function but this is not enough… -

This is an awesome feature suggestion. There are certain roads around me that are experiencing high rates of crime that I would like to avoid and be routed a different way.

it keeps trying to force me onto Angeles Forest, that road is a two lane deathtrap through the mountains and when there is a rockslide or some other issue blocking the road no one on waze can report it as there is no cell coverage up there... sure its the fastest way to get from Palmdale to downtown LA but it is also unreasonably dangerous, and even when i use "other routes" it just finds other ways to route me onto Angeles forest... years back waze sent me up there and directly into a forest fire... this needs to be addressed.

really that doesn't fit on your roadmap but keep it in mind?
What kind of Avoiding tactic is that?
by the way i have avoid unpaved roads checked and seems it doesn't know that Waze doesn't know that the following streets are unpaved LOL(1) NW 20th Terrace
Brooker, FL 32622(2) Northwest 22nd Terrace, Brooker, FL
(3) Nw 208th ln Brooker,FL
Please Mark them streets as unpaved...

That's a very disappointing response. This would be a much more useful enhancement than cartoon icons and **** like that.

Driving from Los Angeles to the Antelope Valley, Waze often routes you on Angeles Crest Highway through the mountains. This is very dangerous. 26 miles of windy mountain roads and aggressive drivers passing on curves. My wife gets sick driving on it. We want to block it permanently. Safer routes are usually only a few minutes slower, but often they are actually faster. Sometimes when I try to pick an alternate route Waze gives me 3 routes to get on Angeles Crest highway. ugh. Otherwise the app is fantastic.

More specifically avoid a section of a road from a given direction.or better set a penalty of x minutes if routing this way
Eg Waze very often tries to route me in the mornings on a narrow 2 way street with lots of illegally parked cars blocking a complete lane and high volume contraflow traffic. Trying to get passed this section is appx. 6 extra minutes compared to the calculation of Waze. Everyone who is aware of the situation avoids this street from one direction. -

For goodness sake Waze, that's a terrible response... Make it part of your "roadmap". This is something that affects millions upon millions of your users every day and it's annoying as ****. Some roads need avoiding.

Where I live there are certain roads where studded tires are prohibited. It would be great if these easily could be excluded.

Every time I go back to my parents house, both Waze and Google maps try to take me off the highway and down a country road which you can't do the speed limit, 1 way sections, Bridges that flood and unfenced cows. No map currently offers this feature. I think it would be a big selling point to move over from Google maps.

On my commute, there is a road that cuts diagonally through Phoenix (Grand Ave) that looks like it would be a great route to take. Wave thinks so too. In fact, it is a great route... unless a train is nearby -- in which case entire intersections are stopped. So, free-flowing traffic can, in an instant, turn into a 15 minute (or longer) delay with no notice.

Hello,
to improve waze, it would be ideal to have the possibility of choosing or not a new route proposed because of traffic jams or any other event with to help us in the choice, the difference between time and kilometers between the initial route and the one proposed.
Gracias

I drive from Massachusetts to Florida and back a couple of times per year. I absolutely WILL NOT drive over the GW Bridge in New York - EVER! The road leading up to it is horrible, traffic is ALWAYS horrendous, and the toll is exorbitant. Instead, I will drive over the Cumo (formerly Tappan Zee) Bridge to get to my destination. Unfortunately, this requires that I add a stop in Nyack, NY when using Waze. I have to do similar gymnastics to avoid Baltimore/Washington beltways.
Why can I not simply drop an "X" over the roads that I don't ever want to travel, and have Waze route me efficiently without using these roads.

This is such an essential feature in a navigation system that it's simply baffling it's not implemented. I could probably brainstorm for several hours, coming up with different valid use-cases faster than I could type them. Eg:
- Road is closed, but the closure is not reported in Waze. Hence it always tries to reroute me onto the closed route. It happened twice on a 500km trip in western europe just yesterday.
- Road looks like a shortcut to Waze, but out of experience, I know that there's house construction or waste collecting going on at a given time, and Waze is not fast enough to update the random complete blockage it causes by the time I get there.
- There's a bug in the planning algorithm which makes it switch back and forth between a nonsensical route and the correct route just a few hundred meters around where I live. Banning the nonsensical one would eliminate the constant switching and beeping.
- There are two parallel roads too close together, which makes waze unsure whether there is congestion on one or both of them. One of these roads is a trap, meaning that you cannot escape from it for a long section once you chose to take it. If waze guesses incorrectly, my route is ruined. Banning the risky road solves the issue and makes the algorithm find more alternative routes.
- Road is not closed yet, but I know it will be closed due to eg. presidents' motorcade by the time I get there. Waze doesn't know or doesn't updates the closure in time, and doesn't offer me alternatives
... I could go on for hours really. These were just a few use-cases from a few weeks period which happened to me.

Option to exclude B & C roads from route options and changes in route. Unless final destination is on a B or C road, in which case this should be alerted at time of selection.
