Weather overlay
I would love to have a real time weather overlay on the WAZE maps. This would be a GREAT feature to add to aid in knowing more about driving conditions. Please vote and let's see what we can do to make it happen.
Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

When requesting directions the app could determine by location if current temp is below freezing and ask if directions should avoid steep roads to avoid being directed via a route that has icy inclines/declines.

Imagine I'm a Telco Operator.
In landscape, I've got a lot of pylons (several millions ...) supporting wires.
Sometimes, these pylons are broken or damaged (wind, snow, ice, rain, vegetation, shocks, lightning, ...) without disturbing necesseraly customer services .
Citizens may alert telco operator ...
I was thinking about the same mechanism that Waze offfers for signaling "danger" "police" "trafic jam" and so on : the citizen who passes in front of a damaged pylon would press a button "damaged pylon" and GPS coordinates, the timestamp (even a photo ...) would be sent to a platform made available to telco operators.
The business model is, of course, to be building ... -

This would be VERY powerful! Especially if it could compute commute time based on weather (say -5% mph slower in medium rain, -10% in heavy rain or snow, -25% or more in heavy snow or ice. If done with even more forethought, it could decide routes based on weather for longer trips!

My suggestion is to incorporate weather into the app. At the very least, it would be great to include severe weather alerts and suggest upco

In Israel you can get the weather on gis from the Israeli Meteorological Service. I believe its available in other countries too :)

I actually driving under the rain. Sometimes on some highways, the rain cause low visibility. I cant notify it cause there is just the fog option. Add an option « low visibility » like the traffic jam can help to decrease crashes and increase drivers’attention.

They could link the route I drew in waze to a weather forecast service and already tell me if I'm going to get rain on the way. It would really help motorcyclists! / Poderiam vincular a rota traçada por mim no waze a um serviço de previsão de tempo e já me dizer se vou pegar chuva durante o trajeto. Ajudaria muito os motociclistas!

Hi! I would like to see the weather in the map of waze and that it could be used to route the best way.

This would be great for motorcyclists, to help avoid rain. I currently use radar now, but it uses mapquest maps which I don't like as well as waze.

Waze should integrate with rain radar sites (like the rainalarm Android app can draw rain info etc from different meteorological agencies) and then allow an option to avoid rain areas (route around). This would be helpful for motorbikers, cyclists, drivers of convertibles etc
If this could be expanded to also avoid other weather (heavy wind, snow, hail, the better)

It would be great if within the weather alert category, there was a spray alert, whereby visibility has been reduced due to heavy rain and the spray kicked up by drivers, especially on motorways

Add the option to report fire next to the road, heavy rain, hail storms and riots/protests. Very commin for South Africa

It happened to me that I had to go north at night, and waze suggested me to drive through a steep and dangerous road, when the alternative was via Highway 4.
The alternative was 10 minutes longer, but sometimes drivers would prefer to travel in a non-hazardous ways even if it takes longer.
In my opinion, consider adding the "Avoid steep roads" option (similar to "Dirt roads" or "Avoid toll roads"). -

In Florida and other states that have violent thunderstorms come up with violent lightning, there should be a weather hazard icon for this. The wind and rain sometimes make it impossible to drive. The mid and southern states WAZE followers sure could use this.

Adding weather overlay, plus in the winter time being able to add details such as icy roads, turns would be a great addition.

I propose you to take into acount the weather. Indeed, for example in France, on highways, you can road at 130km/h. But when it's raining, we have to road at 110km/h maximum.
