Offer a satellite view of the map.
I like how Google maps gives me the satellite view. Why doesn't Waze do that?

Thank you for this idea!
We will not be adding a satellite layer to the client. Waze is trying to provide the best driving experience which is smooth and simple and provide drivers with the right amount of information needed to get to places. While satellite layer is great to have for exploration and panning “offline”, we don’t think it’s going to benefit drivers on the go that much and therefore we’re not going to move in that direction in the foreseeable future.

Posted this in the forum. How about updating the wiki to allow the mapping of courts, cul-de-sacs with the road actually being outlined. If this is not a viable option. How about a satellite overlay option to see actual dead ends much like the web page live map has. In my opinion it is beneficial to the user when driving around or in a not so familiar area. Maps are used not just for turn by turn navigation, but sometimes for yard sales or finding other routed or to simply turn around.

Most devices are mounted on a windscreen mount in the car, with a camera facing forward.
Maybe add an Augmented Reality option (like 2D and 3D view), so you see the routing overlayed over camera data. I got this idea from another driving app: iOnRoad. My first thought was "It would be awesome if waze had this!!"
Please make it happen!!
