Hey,
Please note we're changing the status of this suggestion to Currently Not Planned, since we finalized our plans for 2024 and this idea won't be implemented this year.
We hope to include it in our plans for later down the line.
Thanks!

100% agree. The app already shows the checkered flag on the map, but it's hard to see that right away. The red pin would be very helpful.

Uber and Lyft drivers need to pickup and drop off passenger on the correct side of the road

When you build a route to the destination, very often the route ends on the opposite side of the road.
This is very wrong.
When this happening, I without Waze get to the destination, spending a while sometimes 1-2 miles and 5-20 minuts (traffic jam).
Also, in cases of a long route to the destination, you can driving by different roads, and waze intentionally leads to the wrong side.
I ask you to correct this mistake. I'll be happy if you make Waze even better.

Yes! How is this still not a feature? It's pretty important information when choosing which lane to drive in, once you make the turn onto the final road.

When you finally reach your destination Waze should state that your destination is on the left or right side of the street.

Does the destination address being even or odd work in your area? ( Example: on North/south roads here even addresses are on West side of street.)

When on the last leg of a route, it is impossible to tell which side of the road the destination is on until it comes into view on the map display. The destination marker showing that you're on the last leg should indicate the side of the road the destination is on.

When you are arriving at your destination Waze just announces you are arriving but fails to identify, which side of the street it will be on and addresses are not always visible. This is very important because I often find myself on the opposite side of the street and have to go down the road and turn around. In heavy traffic this can add a significant amount of time to your travel.

When you arrive at your destination Waze just states you have arrived but does not state if the location is on the left or the right side

This app is good but there are tow important things need to add or fix.
1. It's doesn't tell you right or left when you get your destination. And 2. When turns are more than one it's should be able to tell you the 1st, 2nd or 3rd. You may not see these important if you're not using it at a busy city. -

Currently there are only two routing options "shortest" and "fastest". A third option could be "destination/stop on passenger side".
As a school bus driver we don't like to have our students cross the road when possible, it's unsafe. When dropping people it's usually faster to take a slightly longer route vs getting out of a vehicle and escorting them over, it's also easier on traffic. Even if it's not faster it's definitely more preferred. Also many times we can't make a U-turns very easily or safely.
The adresses are already there, only a routing algorithm is needed. The idea is simple for a two way street's that aren't dead ends. If a destination is on a cul de sac or dead end rather then ending the routing early as a left hand side, add a further u-turn instruction so it would end as a right hand side. The exemption would be one way streets.
This option not only works for school bus drivers but could work well for anyone who drops passengers off (uber, lyft, etc) and anyone who doesn't want to cross the street (parents with children, elderly).

I feel this would be a great feature, one of the main things I miss from Google Maps.

Change the (approaching?) final destination icon that appears at the end of your route to show whether the destination is on the left or the right side of the street by using the red pin within the icon.

Please add a update to tell driver is the destination on the left or right when reaching destination. Also please have a option in the settings to turn OFF the drop down at end of trip.."would you like to take a photo of destination?" It is so annoying taking up have my screen.

Navigate to correct side of the street for rider pickup. Announce destination as coming up on right or left.
