Yes!! Agree with everyone here - the best feature of Waze was sending ETA to friends through contacts. I don't want to connect to Facebook, I don't need to see what my friends in other countries are doing on Waze. I need to connect to people NEAR me. Bring back this feature please!!!

No FB! Please remove this requirement to see your friends. I dont have FB and never will. I dont trust FB.

This is ridiculous. I don't have a Facebook account and never will. There are a lot of other IT workers like me that feel the same. You're shooting yourself in the foot in a large way with this change.

Facebook is good for keeping in touch with those who don't live nearby, Waze friends is good for sending ETA's and sharing meeting points for people who DO live nearby. I don't have my geographically close friends/family on facebook, and I don't need my friends in other countries on Waze. Two very different contact lists

Forcing Facebook on people is ridiculous. We already put up with ads, and the user community builds the maps for waze. So it isn’t truly a free app, and when it’s owned by a behemoth like Google, there’s no need to sell out users’ privacy to FB for a little extra revenue. We share our location and speed to make Waze what it is. No other information about us is your business or Facebook’s.

I’m totally confused. Waze you change director of marketing? I never has Facebook and I don’t want it! I need add friends from my phone contacts. Please give it back to old functionality. And don’t pay your people for upgrades like this.

What happened to my existing contacts and friends? Not everyone has or uses Facebook!

Completely agree that this feature was a real differentiator from other apps and having to use social media is a mis-step from control, privacy and trust.

This was a great feature and heavily used and without it less reason to stick with Waze.

I always championed waze but will put that on hold.

Sorry Waze, you dropped a brick there. You force us to have a FB account. I don't want FB and i surely don't want FB to be connected to Waze. You can do way better than that.

Listen to what people say. Me too don't want to rely on Facebook friends only. I want to have custom different group of people in Waze friend list. Waze listen to your users! Don't force to something people will not do anyway.

This is absolute crap. The feature isn't a hard thing to keep working. Uber does it easily. I can send my drive to anyone on my contacts list and it will even show me real time updates!

Why can't Waze? Why has a feature that was heavily used depreciated instead of fixed?

Why was no announcement about it made? Why have none of the forum posts about it gotten a reply from the developers explaining what is going on?

Carole Rothe Lilly Waze I need to share my ride with friends that are NOT ON FACEBOOK! Please fix this!!!! When I signed up for Waze, my friend, NOT ON FACEBOOK, hooked me up and we were able to travel together, now we cannot use this feature... cannot even send a message by Waze text anymore... this is counter intuitive, if you want more people using this App you need to make it available to more people, not less people! I have several stalkers on FaceBook who are always trying to catch me, now I can't use Waze because you want FB people to know where I am traveling... I have over 700 friends, why to they need to know where I am??? Do you want me to be found DEAD??? Please add back the feature to use NON FB contacts that I can send by Waze text to share my drive that will not hunt me down and kill me...

Agree 100% Every time a free app gets taken over and "monetized" this happens. I don't understand why you would take popular functionality and remove it without explanation. This is one the fantastic features of Waze. All you did was make the product less useful.

Why can’t I add a friend to my Waze friends list who is already using Waze? My husband dropped off my friends list yet other people remain.

Need to add a friend from contact list not facebook. The main reason for downloading this app was to track my son. Facebook should not be the only way to add friends. Not everyone has Facebook. Disappointed!!!!!
