I thought waze was owned by google and google promotes an open architecture, why force me to use facebook and not let me add friends from my contact list?

Very disappointed that this feature was removed.

With the exception of “police reported ahead “ - my car does everything else… Even sends information to my friends. Why would I use Waze if I can only connect to Facebook, which I don’t use…?!?!?!

I have no facebook and i will not use facebook, but i would like to have waze friends.

I have Facebook, But I don’t want to add it to my Facebook.. My friends don’t need to know where I’m at all the time...... Please fix this before I just delete app!!

Would prefer to have Waze friends without Facebook

I want to connect to specific people and not use Facebook. Waze let me do that in the past but is now broken.

I can’t believe Facebook is mandatory now in Waze if you want to have friends. Any one know of another crowd sourced map - it’s time to quit using Waze

No, no, no. I DO NOT want my Facebook connected to my ANYTHING. I don't even use the app on my phone. What a dumb move! I only have two Waze friends - my husband and a niece in another state. The former so we can coordinate things like dinner, the latter for coordination when we visit. No way in HELL do I want every FB friend I have to be able to locate me in the real world. No. Just no.

Thought the problem was a bug, I had Waze friends who were now not able to see my trip in the client, I like all these other people don't have Facebook and never will… I am in shock that Waze made the TERRIBLE decision to remove Waze friends and limit friends to Facebook. This is how you get long time users to dump your service. Facebook is a disgusting product, an invasion of privacy (Cambridge Analytica) and no way will I ever have an account like that. You took away a feature that was working perfectly and that is unacceptable.

PLEASE JUST FIX THIS RIGHT AWAY SO I CAN CONTINUE TO USE AWESOME WAZE!

Ever since the update where friends were removed, the sharing of my ETA with my family is extremely limited. I can send my ETA as I depart, and if the other does not have the Waze app open at the time, the ETA is sent properly (From <friend name>: I'm on my way to - <destination>, arriving at <time>). After that, everything else stopped working. In the app you can't see the ETA (it's always the current time instead of the arrival time), there's no more "about to arrive" or ETA updates sent, the bar that shows your progress against your friends' when you head to the same destination is gone. We used this functionality daily and are missing it badly. I am not connecting to Facebook for this, and shouldn't have to.

What the hell. You need face book to see your friends? I have been a very long user of Waze and it’s ruined. Please fix this said.
