public transport services
Please consider the public transport services as a transit option to waze users community (rail services as a metropolitan “backbone” mobility solution for congestion).
Great thinking! We’ll share with the team; they’re always interested in new feature ideas.

Make a waze transit. New York area trains are always late and the transit agencies do not provide reliable schedules or disruption info. Empower the riders so that we can report real time from our trains and riders up the line can know where their train is and estimate when it will get to the station themselves

Eu gostaria de pedir a voces que incluíssem o modo onibus. Ajudaria bastante a fugirmos de ruas estreitas e tuneis baixos.

I would love for school transportations systems to adopt turn by turn gps navigation for route driving a school bus. This would especially be helpful in learning a new route with many turns and stops. More importantly, this form of navigation would be safer than holding a route sheet and figuring out turns while driving a school bus with children. I would love to show up to work and be asked to take a new route. I could just punch in the route number in waze activating my new route. I would safe and hands free without holding a piece of paper with directions, watching traffic, driving, making sure I'm making the correct turns, and keeping the children on my bus safe. I am overwhelmed....

In São Paulo, the taxis can use bus line (Bus Rapid Transit - BRT), which in general are faster than normal roads. But this way, the average speed of a track is changed (since the system can not understand the situation of the bus line), which for normal users, may seem faster than it really is. Should have the user profile the type of vehicle (taxi / normal user), and suggest routes as each situation.

Waze uses local knowledge to keep road maps up to date for locals, visitors, and those passing through, allowing for efficient routing and a sense of direction. However, some users traveling may not be traveling by car, they may use the city's mass transit system. Mass transit is not always clearly mapped, and transit systems may confuse visitors and cause them to get lost.
Adding mass transit routing would allow local editors to map out bus lines, light commuter rail, subways, and other mass transit options. A user would input their destination, and Waze would then direct them to the nearest mass transit stop, and from there, connect the user to transit lines and direct all necessary transfers to reach the destination. This feature could even possibly calculate transit fees based on local knowledge of ticket costs, informing the user of how much money they need to allow for tickets.
As stated, mass transit lines would be marked in the map editor, and possibly visible in a "transit mode", as well as transit stops and stations.
Transit lines would be named with a similar interface to streets, allowing the line name to simply be typed. Stations and stops would be named with an interface similar to places, and would be able to be noted for lines that connect to the stop or station.
This transit feature would allow users to efficiently use mass transit with out stopping to read station maps, and would inform users of any closed stops or lines, raised fees, or backed-up lines.
Users would be able to report changes in ticket fees or closed lines for editors to review, report backed-up lines, and flag delays.
Implementing this feature could allow Waze to grow massively, and grow in effiency. Many other mapping services offer this feature, and Waze has always outperformed other mapping services due to its local-controlled environments, and we can outdo other services again with this feature.

If they could link into the CityMapper app. If users could report the car crowdedness and if that was linked to particular trains, Waze and Citymapper might be able to give guidance about spreading out the peak load of users. Or give some prize incentives for traveling off peak.

Here in D.C. we have the metro closing for maintenance. Can Waze gamify helping people to know about and use alternative public transport?

Make a navigation for those riding buses or trains. I drove from Visalia to Fontana, CA and I saw many people riding on trains. I once road on a bus and it would be great to have the option for a passenger to know if there are different routes to take if you are in a rush to work or school. People riding buses and trains are a big target and are most often missed by businesses

כאשר סוג הרכב הוא אוטובוס השדה הזה יסומן כברירת מחדל. אין טעם לשלוח אוטובוס לעשות פרסה בכביש רגיל. זה בלתי אפשרי.

This will allow individuals to know if a bus has passed or is on the way and point to the nearest bus stop. The bus service in my country is run by a government agency. This could be an additional component of the Connected Citizens program.

Allow the ability to specify that a person is using a public transport. For eg. Bus M01.
Allow others the ability to lookup Bus M01. If you can hook it up with the knowledge of the route then you can show where the next bus is and probably predict how soon it will come. It will be a boon and a time saver
You can extend this to trains (that travel above ground) and to a host of other cities where public transportation is the key. Please please please

Hi,
First - Chapeau for your software. Clients who are not familiar become immediate fans.Second, please consider an option to mark public transportation vehicles. Your software "goes nuts" by recalculating every junction, trying to get me "back on track".
In my (humble) opinion - millions of bus drivers / taxi drivers / tour guides / limo chauffeurs would thank you. The majority may not have good enough english to make the suggestion or support the idea, so you may consider it 2,000 votes easily. (or have a coval suggestion box - impossible to handle)
Thank you

There should be a navigation portion to add for train/plane in addition to car especially when traveling on business or vacation by above means, so as to inform friends and family location/ETA INFO
