Auto turn screen on/off
When driving by directions, it would be great if Waze could turn off the screen when there is more than a specified distance to the next turn, and turn the screen on again when I'm within the specified distance.
We should have the option to set the specified distance to 500m, 1km, 2km, 5km and 10km.
It would also be nice to have an option to set the screen to turn on for 30 seconds or so if a report within our event radio comes in.

t is the best mobile navigation application, having tried many, but for years it is the one I always use. I would like to make a suggestion that I think is important: When we are traveling many kilometers, sometimes the mobiles do not charge us correctly, we have to turn off the screen and be attentive to changes of direction or exits. I suggest that the application turn the screen off and on depending on the proximity to the next detour and traffic warnings. Also sometimes it does not warn of fixed radars, I also suggest that it could always warn and notify us of the speed by voice. If these two things were possible, it would be the perfect application for long trips.

waze max dims my handsets after a while of no navigation directions
the Wake-Lock however is second most needy battery drain after GNSS. To that end i externally power my handset when GNSS navigating

An option to turn the back light on/off under these conditions is great for the battery - like google navigatoin...

To the vocal alert, It is not necessary to only having it vocal. The screen should just turn on when an pop up is made.

It would really help saving power. when I use Waze or other GPS software. Will my phone use more power than my car charges my phone with. So I think the suggestion sound really good. The screen should just turn off if there is more than 2 km to the next sound is played. And the screen to turn on when there is 500 m to the next sound is played.
This feature, together with HUD feature, will make this app the world's best navigationsapp ever:-)
