Now that use of a cellphone from the driver's seat is illegal in Pennsylvania, it is imperative that Waze add road work closures to Android Auto. The absence of the feature is making the use of Waze problematic at best

So there is people who are walking and using Waze? that doesn't make any sense!

I agree with others who commented here; I almost always use Waze on Android Auto, so it would be helpful to have the road closure report available there.

2. Why can't I hit "vote" on this? Every time I report a map issue as proxy for a road closure, I'm directed here to "vote." Yet I can't vote.

If I have important information to input in the system I should be able to do it from my dashboard screen. Your present solution for adding something like a road closure is actually illegal in a majority of states.

Hello! Please allow map editors to access features in Android Auto. It's counterintuitive to have to disconnect while on the road to make changes or temporary updates.

Please include this. It makes no sense that we're hands free and then can't do this without unplugging the phone and using our hands, putting us in a dangerous situation

1. Be able to Report a road closure in Android Auto.
2. Be able to report a road closure further away from the current GPS position.

I.e If I see a road closure, I drive past it, stop on the side of the road and use my phone to report it in Waze (Yes I really stop my car to do this).
But since I've driven past it, I can't select further away on the map to enter the closure.

I don't care if some celebrity can narrate my trip (I've never used voice navigation on ANY map platform), I care if road are CLOSED.

Need this in Android Auto. Because it's not, I had no choice but to inconvenience a Waze Editor trying to report a closed road due to weather conditions.

hey this is ridiculous to not be imminently planned? android auto/car play goes up in usage every year and less and less people use the native app which means road closures are not getting reported almost at all anymore?? i. keep getting routed into. closures and the best i can do is say one lane is closed. Instead i have to report "no road". This seems pretty huge a feature to be missing

I don't care if Kevin Hart can narrate my trip. I care if roads I'm trying to drive are closed.

If you can't have this feature because of 3rd party nonsense, at least produce a separate app or widget to simplify reporting road closures.

Why should technology go backwards?

Because you can't report closures in Android Auto, Waze routinely routes me into a closure. It's happened twice in the past week, forcing me to turn around, and find a much longer route.

Google Maps doesn't have this restriction, and so I've had to switch to using that inferior UI if I need directions. Which is maybe what the overlords of Google are hoping for anyways after acquiring Waze.

The fact that this is "currently not planned" for a rather critical feature of the app is concerning to say the least. It can be as simple as clicking a closure button that then adds the closure to the upcoming node in the drive without additional user input to keep them focused on the road. I get that Android Auto nerfs the full features of Waze, but this is kind of a big deal that impedes the ability to navigate around such critical obstacles.

Here's another problem. If I'm using Android Auto I can't switch to my Pixel and report this. I have to disconnect, relaunch Waze on my phone, start a new trip, then report the closure.

How is this a good user experience? How does driving around in circles because I can't show a road as temporarily closed/blocked useful or safe?

Please add the road closure option to Android Auto. I had 20 cars behind me by the time I could turn around. Problem was downed tree and power lines due to a hurricane. Not everyone will be using Waze but it would make them more likely to use it.
