Animals
Please bring back the option to report animals. Who decided to remove it? I can report gas prices at the press of a button but I can’t alert anyone to Bambi skipping across the road?
Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

Similar to the warning when approaching a train crossing, an alert that you are approaching an area (like the new forest nation park) that has free roaming livestock
Possibly with additional information - they have right of way, do not feed/touch or approach them and to slow and give space when driving around them -

Use object on the road, it is already an option

Option to report livestock on the road. Often an issue in rural areas and happens frequently.

I want to suggest a new feature on waze, in the "danger" part, since for now there is only "obstacle on the road", I would like to suggest that "animal on the road" or "dead animal on the road" is added as this would give people the opportunity to get out of the way.
No one wants to run over a dead animal on the street, with their car. -

Non-Canadian here, I would appreciate this if this was added.

So I reported ANimals on side of road via the voice function and it said reported! Why wouldnt Waze update everyone about this?

Waze Canada animal sightings as a hazard report. Would it ever be possible to get that option back into the app? It would be benificial for Northern Ontario and when incidences like cattle running or escape near a Hwy...

Cordialement,

I completely agree. I almost got into an accident by nearly hitting a deer yet there’s NO options.

In the hazzards menu it would be helpful to have an animal hazzard option, perhaps denoted by a deer icon. Deer and other animals can be extremely hazzardous to cars as well as themselves. Having a heads up from other drivers would be great.

This could help reduce accidents, especially where you might otherwise end up damaging the animal, yourself, your vehicle, or write-off, or serious accident

Ability to log animal crossing points and define which animals e.g. pheasants, deer, moose, horses, cattle etc

Please bring back wildlife alerts! Super helpful for those of that live in more "wild" states like Alaska where moose and bear roam right next to major highways.

Being notified of a significantly large animal that could trouble is important.

For the love of traffic safety, PLEASE bring back reporting of "Animal on shoulder" and roadkill.
I live in the northeastern U.S. and deer are a CONSTANT factor in traffic. This can be said for almost any area of the country for various species of animals and it's such a HUGE help to know if there are animals grazing near the road or possibly on the road, especially at night. Approximately 1 to 2 million collisions with large animals occur annually in the U.S. so I just can't understand why this feature was removed from the app. The roadkill part of thisI guess could fall under the "Object on Road" alert, but PLEASE bring back the option for us to report when there are animals near the road.

It is dangerous to drive in many parts of Australia, particularly the outback (but it can also apply to national freeways/highways) around dawn and dusk, as native animals are most active at that time. Hitting a large Kangaroo can cause massive vehicle damage and risk the lives of occupants. Wombats on the highway between Sydney and Canberra can flip a car over if he is at speed.
It may be helpful to provide alerts when planning the drive that part of the drive is potentially in a dangerous time for native animal activity and to reconsider plans.

PLEASE! I have already lost one vehicle to a deer. After almost hitting yet another one, I realize that 1. My commute is getting to be ridiculous and 2. I am going to keep posting until the feature is returned or I get a response. lol.

Please bring this back!!!! I miss this feature. I have to travel roughly 140 miles per day some on rural roads, some highway. The “roadkill” and “animal…” were some of the BEST features!!!!!!

This could save a lot of money for drivers, as well as can potentially save a pet. I would love to know the rationale for why it was removed?
