Some navigation apps can display the altitude of the current location where the car is. Is this also planned for Waze ?

There are several practical benefits to tracking altitude while driving a car, which I believe could greatly enhance the user experience with Waze:
Terrain orientation: Knowing your current altitude helps you to navigate better, especially in the mountains or on unfamiliar roads.
One of the key safety implications of altitude tracking is that driving at altitude can cause altitude sickness. By monitoring altitude, drivers can take preventive measures and react quickly, potentially avoiding health risks.
Engine performance: Altitude affects engine performance. For example, the air is thinner at higher altitudes, which can reduce performance.
Fuel consumption: Altitude also affects fuel consumption. It may be higher in mountainous terrain due to more challenging conditions.
And a personal one: I like to observe the current altitude when traveling up the mountains or over the mountains to the sea.

We use WAZE regularly, we have a motorhome and we have already gotten stuck twice due to missing altitude information. Are these in WAZE and I just can't find them or in another NAVI app? Thanks for your feedback!

Show altitude could be also visible on carplay in car´s infotainment.

Hello, showing the altitude of the place where you are going is a piece of information that adds a lot of value to the application.

You can add an overlay icon next to the speedometer indicating the altitude of the coordinate where you are and update it as you move with the vehicle.

Application developers can take this into account for future updates as an optional value to display on the map.

When the app is using the GPS it should be trivial task to get the altitude and show it somewhere. Everybody is asking for that for years. I can't understand what's wrong with Waze's people/devs...

Would be perfect if there was also an algorithm option to check the optimal elevation route, because sometimes the shortest way is not the best fuel economy and stress on vehicles.

Here in the Philippine there are lot of skyways above roads, my suggestion is for Waze to use altitude sensors on phones to determine if i am on the sky way or on the road below. There has been lots of times where eventhough im driving on the road below and suddenly the app thinks im above therefore changing the route.

Please add an altimeter it would be so useful!!!
