Combination Red Light & Speed Camera
In my area there are now red light cameras that are also speed cameras. Why is this relevant? Because if the light is STALE (green for a long period and may be turning yellow/red soon at some point) I and other drivers who are aware that the light may be turning red may speed up to avoid the possibility of a receiving a red light ticket. (Because you can’t just stop for a stale green light) If you are aware the redlight camera also tickets for speed it would be a helpful reminder to keep your speed in check while navigating a red light intersection. I think waze should alert users to combination redlight / speed camera intersections. Thank you for reading.

Great thinking! The issue you raised has been addressed in a recent redesign. Hope you like it!

Please consider this idea. These are becoming increasingly common in the UK.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed but most towns and cities are adding red light cameras and speed cameras in between traffic lights🚦but there is no way to report them. I think everyone should know exactly where these cameras are.

Even though Red light and speeding cameras are seems to be installed towards one direction, but they are taking pictures from all four directions. Waze will only give voice alert for one direction which is not good. Please mark them as a junction cameras, so it can alert drivers from all the directions by saying that there is a camera ahead. And also couple of cameras are not being alerted at all. If you create a junction camera system it will solve all problems.

Make it possible for 2 camera alerts to appear on the screen at once when their radiuses overlap. I received a report some time ago about the issue and then tried to drive through the area myself and saw what they were talking about. First there was a speed camera and then just 2 blocks further, there is a red light camera. I received an alert for the speed camera but nothing came up for the red light camera. Even going back another day, I would cancel the alert for the speed camera as soon as it would pop up but I still didn't get an alert for the red light camera. If it helps, I could try it again and record my screen to email it somewhere.

Combination red-light / speed cams need to be mappable. These devices trap the unwary such as with traffic lights at the bottom of hills that have long phases where people either intentionally or unwittingly speed up to pass a green light that's shortly going to be red for a long time.

Combined red light and speed cameras (known as 'Speed on Green' in the UK) are getting more and more common now and need to be mappable. I know other countries also use these cameras, so this will be relevant in other places around the globe.
These cameras are a single unit, but monitor both red light violations AND speed at the same time.
Without being able to map these combination cameras, users are creating URs stating that Waze isn't alerting them properly. Because we can only choose one or the other, this is frustrating for the user. This will likely become more and more common as some regions are gradually replacing existing red light cameras with these combined ones.
I know this idea has been suggested before, but I can only find suggestions from a couple of years ago with no staff response.

Waze will allow alert for 1 camera within a 400-500m radius.
So we can currently only tell the driver Red light or speed but not both. -

Yes these NEED to be mappable. Australia has a lot of combination red light and speed cameras but we cannot map these. Mapping both types next to each other is not an option since one alert suppresses them all. I receive a UR at least once a week complaining they weren’t warned it was both a speed AND red light one.

Could you not simply add a speed camera on the Waze map?
