Same issue on Android.
iPhones have a screen orientation lock toggle. It's a lot more difficult to change that setting on Android.
I personally prefer the phone to be in locked portrait mode and in landscape mode for navigation.
Currently I either need to get a third party widget or go through 3 levels of settings change that preference.

Add a function to flip the UI image to allow the Waze view to be projected onto a windscreen acting as a heads up display and minimising risk when driving.

Add a display option to specify screen rotation behavior (e.g., normal, portrait, left, or right), so I don't have to change the system settings to keep Waze behaving the way I want. For example, I like having screen rotation for my photos and browser, but I want Waze to always stay in portrait mode (not rotating the display when I turn a corner).

In Objective C, adding a preferred screen rotation behavior like this is very easy.

I would like to see WAZE appear on an iPhone based on the orientation of the device. For instance, I can place the iPhone horizontally in my car for ease of use but the WAZE presentation is stil vertical.

Would also help for Android as well. HTC Incredible here and have the exact same problem with charging.

Wish though you can have screen rotate upside down 4 when im charging in my cup holder.

Isn't there a third party app that can rotate the screen automatically?
