I have two suggestions
If there is an animal by the side of the road, then you should be able to quickly add that to a map so that other drivers could benefit from that information before they drove by.
After you leave a particular spot, you are no longer allowed to offer warnings or other relevant information that other drivers would benefit from. Case in point: I wanted to comment that there was a rabbit by the side of our road so that other drivers would become aware of that animal before they drove by. Dark mode - black background
We need darker dark mode! Gray streets on black background, as the Android Auto screen is now too bright, when driving at night!

Legend too small to read
Mostly brilliant but some things annoy such as the motorway or road sign next to turn off being so small it can't be read from drivers seat without binoculars. I can send in photo examples. Could you also make option not to take complex detour to not save 1 minute wait ... Fix that you'll get 5 stars

North up changes desperately needed
I am trying to use Waze with the map displayed in the direction I’m actually going, North Up, Because with the map always moving what is actually North to just keep my direction always going towards the top of the screen one loses all perspective on where things are. When one would read a paper map one would always keep the map north up, that way you could always learn your relative position to other places. Decouple map display from light sensor
The current version of Android Waze always uses the information from the light sensor to display dark or light mode. My car doesn't have a light sensor (even though it is a 2023 model). Therefore, my map display is always dark, making it very hard to see in bright sunlight. Could you make it possible for users to select whether to use the information from the light sensor or not? Separate "Show compass" from "Always show map controls"
It is 2024-04-03 now. Some time ago the "Show compass" option disappeared from "Settings" / "Map display" / "Quick access". Now the compass is shown on the map only when "Always show map controls" is enabled. The old behavior was better. The new behavior adds unnecessary clutter.
My goal is to see an information. I have no intention on controlling the map while driving, so map controls are useless for me.
Please restore old behavior.

Good imagery quality for Prioritised by Date
The current image quality from additional imagery> prioritised by date is very poor and pixelized. Currently, not all areas have the latest imagery, and to view the latest imagery in detail, many times you need to rely on Google Earth Pro. So please provide same imagery quality as Google Earth Pro.

City name under street name
Display the name of the city below that of the street you are on. (To avoid having to zoom out the map while driving)

Dark mode - not blue mode
Your last update resulted in a barely usable dark mode, with a strong blue tint, instead of the previous familiar dark grey. I drive for a living and I have to say that the colour is simply unhealthy for the eyes of someone driving 8h/day. Please bring back the previous dark mode.

North = up, but not while driving❗
I'm happy to see that an option to fix North to the up has finally been added (how many years?), thanks to SyberKnight here
💥BUT💥, as it's really great to browse the map (in 2D mode) with fixed North, like a real map, I really don't see the point of fixing the North up while driving. It causes tons of situations where the guidance is unusable (typically when using the phone in portrait and driving to the west, road to come becomes invisible).
So I suggest to add another sub-option: "Follow road direction when driving". If…

New Navigation Vehicles
I'm not experiencing any problems. Waze is great... Better than Google Maps... Only thing I WOULD like to see is the satellite view on Waze, but that's minor...
I would simply like to suggest a new vehicle. May I suggest the 1. V-Series Cadillac Escalade & Escalade ESV, 2. Chevy Tahoe & Suburban High County and 3. GMC Yukon Denali & Yukon Denali XL?
I think these additional options will be very cool. Please also remember to add the panoramic mooroof...

Updates to UI/Map display
I do a lot of free driving, since I swapped from my now dead GPS to Waze. The biggest thing I miss from my GPS is that it showed street names, exits and mile markers without me needing to be in navigation mode. I know where I'm driving, but the street and exit names keep me grounded and not missing my exits/streets since I primarily drive when the sun is not up.
