ergonomy suggestion
On map screen, the arrival time is with BIGGER characters than the distance to the next turn (left up corner) and with a weaker contrast. I'm a bit old, I can see the arrival time very clearly, but it is not the MAIN information I need.
The next turn distance is a bit difficult to read for me and necessits attention. I would prefer to see clearly and quickly the next turn distance.5 votes -
arriving with destination on the right for those of us that use the app to navigate with a disabled person on board the vehicle
I use my waze while at work driving disabled people to destinations, the vehicle is equipped with a passenger side lift for those in mobility devices, an option to arrive at the destination with it being on the right side of the vehicle would be both safer and more convenient.

Route color coding.
In navigation programs currently route to go is shown in single colour.
It can be colour coded to show descent and ascent, with intensity of colour changing according to steepness.
That would decrease risks when overtaking, as descents are hard to spot, and another car can be hiding there.
Current maps can be updated, when there are changes in altitude not matching ones known in app. No manual work would be needed; averages of reporting can be used.5 votes -

add option to disable traffic based routing
When routing, waze often attempts to route around traffic. Waze is used occasionally for just the first part of a journey (navigating a downtown area, for example) and I find it selecting a completely different route every time I use it because it attempts to route around the traffic at work.
Another example is that during extremely heavy traffic in a snowstorm, waze had me exiting at every freeway exit and then entering the freeway again, simply because the freeway exits had little traffic on them compared to the freeway itself.
Because of this, there should be a simpler routing option in waze that completely disregards traffic and only routes based on a simple, repeatable path to a destination.
Furthermore, this path should only include posted speed limits, and should route a path regardless of if it is the opposite direction from the destination.
Often, there are simpler/better ways to get to a central location if you "overshoot" and then backtrack (given the US road system).

Semaphores
Waze could have an algorithm to detect where are the semaphores in the city, and keep how long they take to open, to avoid the semaphores that take longer.
There are some semaphores in São Paulo that take too long to open. It would be very useful to avoid them.5 votes -

Waze should reroute my drive when there is a accident and major backup, right? But it does not. Do I have a setting not setup correctly?

provide a Navigation Prompt whenever the road name changes.
This is needed in two scenarios:
When a turn from Smith Ave to Jones Street, for example, is slight enough the client provides no direction. No matter how slight the angle of entry to a new road is, the client should say "turn right" or "slight right" on the road with a different name than the current road. This is especially confusing if Waze is running in the background, since my eyes are telling me I'm at an interchange and Waze isn't providing direction. Also, when the road you are driving on changes names but continues straight in the same direction, it would be nice to hear "Continue straight on...." When the last command you heard was "Turn right on Apple Street", it can be disconcerting to find yourself on Orange Ave when you look at the street signs, knowing you haven't made any turns.

STOP 180° car rotation when standing still
So I come to a stop light, and after a while, my car and map (not the screen) rotates, I guess, as it thinks I actually did make a U turn. Problem is my speed is 0km/h. It happens even when you have a destination to navigate to, and then, all of u sudden, I'm turned around and I'm being shown to make first to the right. I start driving, the whole thing rotates ones again, and I miss my left turn !?!?! I think it's because it get's a satellite position which shifted a bit, so it thinks that I actually did a U turn. Please fix this, as there is no way to make a U turn with the speed of 0kmh. Unless you are picked by the guys for illegal parking, but than you have other problems.

Please consider adding the number of drivers to the traffic speed display. The greater number of drivers the greater the confidence in the speed displayed. Conversely if a speed along a corridor is based on only a few drivers the accuracy is questionable.

choose navigation type on navigation screen and on route picker
To switch between Shortest or Fastest you have to go into settings->navigation->type and choose shortest or fastest. I often switch between these modes when picking my route so it would make sense to have that option available in the same screen as where the routes are chosen AND on the "navigate to" screen.

Option for "Safety-Aware Routing" Prioritizing Shelter Proximity
I suggest adding a routing option that allows users to find routes optimized not just for speed, but also for proximity to designated safety shelters (e.g., bomb shelters, emergency shelters) along the way. In emergencies, knowing you're on a path with quick access to a shelter could be crucial. This would be different from navigating to a shelter, but rather keeping shelters nearby while en route to a destination.

Don't show "Continue Straight" until shortly before it's needed
Showing a continue straight as next turn hundreds of km before it's reached is annoying. I'd like to know what my actual next turn is. While it can be useful in many situations it's not needed until shortly before you reach it.
I suggest only display in app when the first prompt for it is announced.
Example:
In the example, I'm already on I-95 N. I don't need to know that in 76 miles I need to continue on I-95 (it actually started displaying about 200 miles before)

Car Play Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze Turn By Turn Dirrections Appearing On Instrument Cluster
Please allow users to enable and disable turn-by-turn directions in the instrument cluster. I don’t want to see it on my instrument cluster when I already have it on my navigation screen. Turn-by-turn directions on the instrument cluster were only available before on Apple Maps, recently Google Maps added it without any mention in the app update notes and no option in the settings to turn it off. I’m glad it’s not yet available on Waze because users can not turn off this feature in vehicle settings CarPlay settings, phone settings not even steering wheel settings! The only way to disable it is with a dealer scan tool! Unless Apple, Maps Car CarPlay, and Waze add this as an option in their next update please make it an option in the settings for on / off to give customers the choice on the maps they are using. I have spent hours doing research and reading forums users are frustrated. I contacted Apple Maps / CarPlay and Google Maps as well. They need to add this as an option because what customers like me have discovered is that it’s not necessary to show it in the instrument cluster when it’s been previewed on a large navigation screen. Let me know if this clears up confusion. Please help to get this resolved next update need and include it in the update notes. Community please help us push this topic to the powers at be and shed light on this asap Thanks.
