Feature request: Display closure expiration date directly in the app
When I encounter a closure in the app, I would like to be able to check its details, especially the expiration date.
For example, if I'm driving near a neighborhood that is inaccessible due to an event, I’d like to quickly check when the roads will reopen. Similarly, as an editor, I want to easily check whether a closure needs to be extended or updated.
A quick and dirty solution could be automatically appending the expiration date to the closure name or description, regardless of whether the editor manually included one.

BUG: Waze app degrades Bluetooth music audio quality when launched before music playback
Summary:
When the navigation app is started first and then music is played via Bluetooth, audio quality from Apple Music (and other streaming apps) is noticeably worse than when music is started before launching navigation.Device tested: iPhone 11, 12Pro, 13Pro, 14Pro
Navigation app: Waze
Cars tested : BMW 5GT 2015, BMW X32017, BMW 420 2019, MB GLC 2017
Connection: Bluetooth (A2DP for media; HFP/SCO may be triggered by voice prompts)
Steps to Reproduce:
Pair iPhone to car head unit via Bluetooth.
Launch the navigation app and start a route with voice prompts enabled.
Start music playback in Apple Music over Bluetooth.
Listen to music audio quality even with voice prompts disabled.
Expected Result:
Music audio quality should be consistent regardless of the order in which apps are launched. Voice prompts should mix or duck volume without degrading the music stream’s codec/bitrate/perceived fidelity.Actual Result:
When navigation is started before music, music sounds compressed, quieter, or “worse” (reduced fidelity). If music is started before launching navigation, audio quality remains normal. This indicates the navigation app’s early audio focus request causes the Bluetooth stack/head unit to lock into a lower‑quality audio path for subsequent music playback.Additional Context:
Issue is more noticeable with high‑quality streaming (e.g., Apple Music lossless/high‑bitrate sources).
Likely related to audio focus handling and Bluetooth profile/codec switching when the navigation app acquires the voice channel first.
Observed workaround: start music playback before launching the navigation app; however, this is not intuitive and should not be required.

Navigation Banner Location Left/Right
Seems to be on android auto the navigation banner goes top left which can be really difficult to read at times, especially since in the UK we drive on the right hand side, it could be easily fixed/implemented because apple car play already displays it top right.

Won’t get rid of Apple Maps until the feature is fixed
I love Waze but the one issue that keeps me from just fully deleting Apple Maps is the inability to search for a location while my phone is Connected to Apple CarPlay and be able to see on the map where the location is. It only gives options by the distance from me. I moved to a big new city and also travel a lot for work and it’s frustrating to not be able to see in which direction say for instance a gas station is from me. Same goes for adding a stop, cant tell if the location is 4 miles in the opposite direction or along the way.

Display of other waze users on the map should be optional
I find the display of other waze users on the map clutters the display for no useful purpose. Please make this optional. If it already is an option then you need to improve the UI to make it more intuitive so that options aren't difficult to find. I'm new to Waze but the map and UI look very dated.

- when WAZE offer as short route, i'll be happy in the end to compare my time to the other route to know in the future if it is a good decision
- when there is a traffic jam and waze offers many drivers a alternative route, does it count the drivers ? maybe it is making a bigger traffic jam

Please add local music apps as options - PowerAmp
Long trips using both Wayze and a streaming audio app means my phone sucks up power, gets hot, and the car charger is just barely keeping up. Please allow us to import apps from our phones like PowerAmp that play local music, save energy and bandwidth!

Opposite-Side Driving Assistance Mode
I would like to suggest a dedicated Opposite-Side Driving Assistance Mode for drivers traveling in countries where traffic drives on the opposite side from what they are used to.
For example, I live in Israel and have spent my entire driving life driving on the right. One reason I hesitate to rent a car in countries such as the UK, Japan, Australia or Thailand is the concern that, especially during the first few days, instinct may cause me to enter the wrong side of the road.
Waze already knows the local driving side, road geometry, upcoming turns and roundabouts. This information could be used to provide additional assistance specifically for drivers adapting to the opposite traffic system.
Examples could include:
At the start of the trip: “Reminder: Drive on the LEFT.”
Before a turn: “Turn right, then keep LEFT.”
Immediately after a turn: “Keep LEFT.”
Before entering a roundabout: “Keep LEFT. Traffic approaches from the RIGHT.”
When leaving a parking lot, petrol station, hotel or side road: “Remember to enter the LEFT side of the road.”
During normal driving, display a small persistent KEEP LEFT or KEEP RIGHT indicator.
Provide more frequent reminders during the first hours or days of driving, then gradually reduce them as the driver becomes accustomed to the local traffic system. The mode could be activated manually, or Waze could suggest activating it when it detects that a user normally drives in a right-driving country but is now navigating in a left-driving country, or vice versa.
The purpose would not be to replace normal navigation. It would act as an additional driver adaptation and safety layer, focusing particularly on turns, intersections, roundabouts and exits from parking areas—situations where driving habits may cause someone to instinctively choose the wrong side.
I believe this could make many travelers more comfortable renting and driving cars abroad and could potentially reduce wrong-side driving errors during the adaptation period.
Thank you for considering it.

Manual report location
Please allow users to report an incident manually on the map! Only allows users to report at GPS tracking location. Allow so that users could report before/after an incident or while on a different location to improve accuracy for others. There is much feedback on this issue here in the suggestion box, and I know there is probably an objection so to not encourage drivers to use the phone while driving, but please do something

Camera
Hello Waze Support Team,
I would like to suggest adding a new reporting option for hidden or concealed speed/traffic cameras.
Similar to the existing options for reporting police, accidents, hazards, and other incidents, it would be very useful to have an option such as “Hidden Camera” or “Camera Behind Road Sign”.
Recently, in the UAE, new cameras have been installed discreetly behind road signs and street-name/signage boards. Many drivers are receiving fines because these cameras are difficult to notice while driving.
If Waze added a specific reporting option for these cameras, Waze users could report their locations and help build a reliable database, making navigation safer and helping drivers stay aware of these locations.
I believe this feature would be particularly useful in the UAE and could also benefit Waze users in other countries where concealed cameras are used.
Thank you for considering this suggestion.

Poor contrast
Hello,
I would like to report that the contrast of the Routes button and the Change Sounds button on car play are lacking in contrast. The route button has a black arrow pointing in multiple direction over a dark gray button over a dark gray background. The change sounds is the same colors, but with the speaker. When not in CarPlay, this issue is fixed by using white colored icons instead of black ones. I am writing to request that a change like this be made in the CarPlay UI as well. Thank you.2 votes -
improve on the accuracy and reliability of arrival times
Waze says leave by 6:58 to get there at 8:00, I leave at 6:55 and the arrival time continues to increase as I'm driving with the arrival then being 8:30. this is not the first time. I have lost trust in using Waze

CarPlay iOS27
After the latest iOS update (27), the window displaying the arrival time and route distance is too large—there is too much empty space. Either the window needs to be made smaller, or the text should be displayed on a single line.

Add Off-Road / SUV vehicle type that suggests dirt & unpaved routes in heavy traffic
I suggest adding an “Off-Road / SUV” vehicle type option in the Waze app settings.
When this option is selected, Waze should recognize the vehicle’s higher ground clearance, 4WD/AWD capability, and ability to handle unpaved surfaces. During heavy congestion on main paved roads, the app could then proactively offer alternative routes that include suitable dirt roads, gravel roads, or light off-road paths (where safe and legal).
This would let drivers of SUVs and off-road capable vehicles potentially bypass severe traffic jams using secondary unpaved routes that regular passenger cars cannot safely take. Any such suggestions should still prioritize safety, legality, and local road restrictions.
This feature would be valuable for the growing number of users who drive capable vehicles and could help differentiate Waze from other navigation apps.

Bring back "automatic dark mode"
We need and "Automatic dark mode" for tunnels please! When going into a dark tunnel during the day, the car dashboard goes dim but the waze app on my phone doesn't, it's annoying. Google maps beats you with that.
I think you had this option earlier but it was removed!!!2 votes -

Smart itineraries for CNG cars with automatic stops based on remaining range
Hi everyone!
I often use Waze for long trips and I drive a CNG car. As many know, the network of CNG stations is not widespread, and every trip needs careful planning, especially when range is limited.Currently, Waze allows you to select the type of fuel, but it doesn’t manage range nor suggest mandatory stops when the route exceeds the distance you can cover with the remaining CNG.
Improvement idea
Add a feature that allows users to set:Total range (e.g., 350 km)
Remaining range (e.g., 120 km)
Fuel type: CNG
During navigation, if the distance to the destination exceeds the remaining range, Waze could:
Calculate the point where the range runs out
Automatically search for CNG stations within reach
Suggest a stop as an intermediate waypoint
Prefer stations that are:
along the route
with minimal detour
possibly cheaper
open at the estimated arrival time
Why this would be useful
CNG has a much less widespread network compared to gasoline/diesel
Drivers must manually plan every stop
An automatic feature would reduce stress, detours, and risks
It could also be extended to LPG and electric vehicles
Real example
Route: Venice → Brindisi (about 900 km)
Range: 350 km
Remaining range: 120 kmWaze could automatically suggest stops in Rimini, Pescara, Foggia, etc., without the user having to search manually.
Conclusion
In my opinion, this would be a very useful feature and would improve the driving experience for many CNG car users.
What do you think? Has anyone already proposed something similar?Smart itineraries for CNG cars with automatic stops based on remaining range

Subject: Feature Request: Option to Permanently Display Navigation Destination Name on Screen
Dear Product & UX Development Team,
I am writing to suggest a key User Interface (UI) improvement regarding the active navigation display in your app.
Currently, during active turn-by-turn navigation, the top banner solely displays the next immediate maneuver. The ultimate destination name is minimized into the bottom ETA bar, requiring extra user interaction to view.
When driving in unfamiliar locations or abroad, foreign street names or typos in destination entry can lead to taking a wrong route for miles before realizing the mistake. Having the destination permanently visible on the main screen (without requiring screen taps while driving) would immediately provide drivers with continuous reassurance that they are heading to the correct endpoint.
Suggested Solution:
Provide a toggle setting in the display/navigation menu to allow a persistent text line or overlay badge showing the Final Destination Name on the main navigation screen alongside the next maneuver instruction.
Thank you for your continuous work in improving road safety and user experience.
Best regards,
Yehuda shachar

Warn drivers when the destination requires driving on private roads
Today, when a user sets a destination that can only be reached via private roads, Waze gives no indication of this. Drivers simply follow the route "blind" and end up on roads they should not be using — for example, roads open to residents only.
I would like to see a warning implemented in two places:
- When navigation starts, if the calculated route includes one or more private road segments.
- Again at a reasonable distance before the driver actually reaches the private section.
Suggested wording:
"Heads up: reaching this destination requires driving on private roads, which may require permission to enter."
Why this matters:
- It prevents drivers from unknowingly trespassing on restricted or residents-only roads.
- It reduces friction between drivers and local residents, which is a recurring source of complaints against navigation apps.
- It lets the driver decide up front whether to continue, look for an alternative destination point, or arrange access in advance.
Waze already stores private road attributes in the map data and already avoids routing through them where possible, so the information needed for this warning is available — it just isn't surfaced to the driver today.
Thank you for considering this.
