Show temporary speed limits in construction zones
Temporary Speed Limits for Roadworks & Construction Zones
This suggestion aims to enhance road safety and improve the accuracy of Waze navigation by implementing a feature that displays temporary speed limits in real-time. These are the limits indicated by the yellow or orange signs on portable stands often found in road repair and construction zones.
Currently, Waze primarily relies on static, permanent speed limits for a given road segment. However, in areas with ongoing roadworks, the official speed limit is often temporarily reduced to ensure the safety of both drivers and road workers. Without this information being reflected in the app, Waze may still indicate the higher, permanent speed limit, which could lead to confusion and unsafe driving behavior.
How it would work:
Users could report a temporary speed limit change in a manner similar to reporting a road hazard or other alerts. A new category could be added to the reporting menu, such as "Temporary Speed Limit". The user would then be prompted to select the new, temporary speed limit and the length of the road segment affected.
Benefits of this feature:
• Increased Road Safety: By alerting drivers to lower speed limits in construction zones, Waze would help prevent accidents and protect the lives of both drivers and road workers. This is the primary and most critical benefit of this feature.
• Improved Navigation Accuracy: The app would provide more precise and up-to-date guidance, ensuring that the displayed speed limit matches the real-world conditions.
• Enhanced Community Participation: This feature would empower Waze users to contribute valuable, dynamic data, making the app even more responsive and community-driven. It would foster a sense of shared responsibility for road safety.
• Seamless User Experience: The implementation could be simple and intuitive. Once reported, the temporary speed limit would be displayed on the map, similar to how other reports (e.g., traffic jams, road closures) are shown. The system could be designed so that these temporary reports automatically expire after a certain period (e.g., 24-48 hours) to ensure the information remains current.
In summary, adding the ability to report and display temporary speed limits is a logical and crucial next step in making Waze the most comprehensive and safety-oriented navigation app. It addresses a real-world issue that affects millions of drivers daily and aligns perfectly with Waze's mission to outsmart traffic together. This feature would not only make navigation more accurate but, more importantly, would make our roads safer for everyone.Temporary Speed Limits for Roadworks & Construction Zones

Reduce repetition of extended comments with 70s DJ as you approach alerts
Reduce repetition of extended comments with 70s DJ as you approach alerts. I.e. i dont need the extended comments at .5, .25mile etc as you approach turns. They take so long that they trample on messages and you may miss warnings. Doing it for the first warning only is just fine!

Tamil Language Support
I strongly request that Tamil be fully supported in this app – not just the script and keyboard, but also including the Tamil numeral system. Tamil is one of the oldest living languages in the world, spoken by over 80 million people, with a continuous and incredibly rich cultural history. It is extremely disappointing, that Tamil is still left out.
This feels not just incomplete, but also hurtful to many users. If other languages are given proper support, why not Tamil? This is not a “nice to have” feature – it is a necessity. Millions of Tamil speakers worldwide deserve this support, and we expect a global app in the 21st century to respect and reflect such linguistic diversity.
Please take this request seriously, kindly and implement full Tamil support – including the numeral system – as possible. Anything less will remain a glaring gap that the community will no longer overlook.

CarPlay
CarPlay dashboard navigation mapping is unstable.
Every time I use navigation, the mapping on the dashboard disconnects after a while and shows the message “Please connect Apple CarPlay,” although CarPlay continues to display normally on the central screen. This is definitely not an issue with the phone or the car system, because I tested it in my friend’s car and the problem reappeared.
In addition, the navigation route displayed on the dashboard is too thin, making it difficult to use. I suggest making the route line thicker and more prominent.1 vote -

Timer for trip suggestions
Whenever I use waze on my motorcycle and the trip suggestion such as "Driving Home?" appears, I have to take off my gloves to press "No". It's pretty annoying but I don't want to turn them completely off. So I suggest a timer that if you don't press anything for like 30 seconds, the sign dissappears completely.

Cost-saving route suggestion with minimal time trade-off
"Smart Save" routing option that suggests routes that are up to a few minutes longer but result in a lower travel cost. - ideal for drivers who are flexible on time but want to save money on tolls, fuel, or parking.

Notify nearby drivers of safety alerts such as headlights
I notice cars driving in the dark with day time running lights on. Their cars don’t automatically turn on their headlights and taillights but do turn on their dash lights. It would be nice to send them an alert and even instructions (especially if they are in a rental) to turn on their lights. It must be scary for them to drive with basic no headlights and it’s scary for me to see people drive without taillights. There can be other safety alerts such as the gas door open/ cap hanging. This would be an opt in thing to help young and non-car enthusiasts get help from the Waze community.

Att.

Launcher not functional
The latest update prevents use on the mobile screen while connected to Android Auto. The button to intentionally exclude Waze from the Android launcher is not functional. The Waze map only works on the car screen (if Waze is included in the launcher). If Waze is not in the launcher, the map does not work on the phone and, regardless of the settings, it refers to Android Auto and only displays line-by-line navigation commands on the phone, not the map. Please restore the original settings and fix the update error!

CarPlay (iOS 26) – unable to select destination suggestions when searching
Hello,
after updating to iOS 26, the destination suggestions in Waze on CarPlay stopped working.
The suggestions appear when typing, but they cannot be selected. I always have to type the full address and press search.
Before iOS 26 this worked fine, and it was safer than typing the whole address.
Please fix this issue. Thank you.1 vote -
Activate voice input when report button is pushed in Android Auto/Carplay or phone app
I would like the report button to start listening for voice prompts when pushed on the phone or android auto/carplay. I use Google Assistant for most reports and by the time I say “Ok Google” then wait for the prompt, then use voice reporting the pin is dropped significantly beyond what I was trying to report. Fumbling around with android auto to find the correct category is less safe and less direct than voice reporting and I usually end up hitting the wrong category.

How is Machine Learning different from AI?
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are two of today's most widely used buzzwords in the cutting-edge technological scene. While they're sometimes used interchangeably, they're respective but related areas. AI is the general term that refers to developing systems that can carry out tasks that would otherwise need human intelligence, while machine learning refers to a subset of AI that enables systems to learn from data and get better over time without being specifically programmed. It's important for students, professionals, and organizations to understand the difference between AI and ML because it determines how they can effectively use the power of intelligent systems.

Artificial Intelligence is the general field that seeks to create machines that are capable of simulating human intelligence. It entails developing systems that are able to execute tasks like reasoning, learning, problem-solving, perception, and even comprehension of language. The theory of AI began in the 1950s when scientists were interested in the idea of developing machines that would be capable of "thinking" like humans. AI has two forms: narrow AI and general AI. Narrow AI or weak AI is tailored to some task, for example, voice detection or face recognition. They are extremely effective at what they have been designed to do but are bound to that. General AI is programmed to mimic human-level intellects so that machines can carry out any cognitive task that a human can accomplish. General AI is currently a theoretical idea and has yet to be realized. The other principal difference is in the manner of approaching and solving tasks. Classical AI systems may employ hard-coded rules and decision trees to carry out tasks. For instance, a chess AI built by employing rule-based AI would receive a set of instructions on how to make moves based on certain game conditions. Conversely, a machine learning-based chess program would learn from thousands of games, discovering which moves work best in various situations through no explicit programming. It is this learning and adaptability that makes ML-based systems distinct from traditional AI.
Additionally, the development process of AI and ML systems also varies considerably. Constructing a classical AI system tends to include writing out logic and rules explicitly, which is time-consuming and less flexible. Constructing an ML model takes gathering and preparing data, choosing an appropriate algorithm, training the model with the data, and testing and tuning it based on performance. As the ML model receives more data, it gets better and better, while rule-based AI systems do not evolve unless updated manually.
https://www.sevenmentor.com/machine-learning-course-in-pune.php
For practical applications, both AI and ML have been used extensively, but the latter has taken on more significance in recent times because of its scalability and efficacy with big data. Typical applications of AI are speech assistants such as Siri and Alexa, recommendation platforms such as the ones on Netflix and Amazon, and self-driving cars. These applications tend to leverage machine learning methods in order to enhance performance. There are some AI systems like rule-based customer service chatbots or logic-based expert systems that do not use machine learning at all.
https://www.sevenmentor.com/machine-learning-course-in-pune.phpMoreover, machine learning has its own subfields—supervised learning, unsupervised learning, semi-supervised learning, and reinforcement learning—each well-suited for particular types of tasks. These allow for a more data-oriented, statistical way of constructing clever systems. At the same time, AI has wider ideas such as goal formulation, symbolic reasoning, knowledge representation, and planning. For example, an AI system that plans the path of a robot through a maze may employ logic-based algorithms instead of data-oriented machine learning models.
Technically and academically, AI is an interdisciplinary research field that draws upon computer science, cognitive psychology, neuroscience, and linguistics, whereas ML is rooted in statistical modeling, probability theory, and optimization. Machine learning is also significantly involved in the evolution of contemporary AI, especially in fields such as computer vision, natural language processing, and robotics. Without machine learning, most of the current AI systems we depend on would either not exist or not be nearly as useful.
It should be noted, then, that artificial intelligence and machine learning are related but distinct concepts. AI is the general objective of developing intelligent machines that can simulate human actions, whereas ML is a technique used to accomplish this objective by enabling machines to learn from experience. Comprehending this divergence is critical for understanding how smart technologies are created and utilized across different industries. As technology advances, machine learning will continue to be a driving force for innovation within the broader AI landscape, making machines smarter, faster, and more efficient at solving intricate tasks.
