Alert both directions of travel for police
Maybe this isn't a new idea and has already been expressed here but I think it would be important for both directions of travel to receive an alert of police no matter which side it was reported on, because often it is sitting in the middle between both directions and other times it's a two-lane highway where the police on the other side could still get you. I believe this could also effectively eliminate the need for reporting a police on the other side and just have a single report police button.

Please give us options for the alert sounds
The new update with the "pling" sound is so annoying and takes my focus off driving. Please make the alerts customizable or give us a few options to choose from. Thankyou!

Ocenila bych v aplikaci Waze možnost zadat různé typy vozů (třeba karavan, výška 2,9.m) Chybí i možnost trasy s jízdním kolem, nebo pěšky.

דיווח על תקר - פנצ'ר
Many vehicles are stranded due to flat tires. It is recommended to provide the option to report a flat tire so that a driver who arrives can help.

Option to alerts on iphone even when its above or at the speed limit
Need this option because of the delay from GPS sync with the real speed! Its just a easy option to allow and makes a huge difference!

Mixed Toll and Toll-Free Route Planning
Instead of only "Avoid toll roads" for the entire trip, let users choose which route segments can use toll roads and which should avoid them. This would provide much more flexible and cost-effective route planning.

Ukraine case
Dear Waze Development and Product Team,
I am writing to you as a loyal Waze user from Ukraine. I drive a subcompact car with low ground clearance. While I appreciate the app's real-time traffic updates, Waze's routing algorithms in Ukraine have repeatedly led me down roads that are physically dangerous for my vehicle. I have already suffered costly damages to my car’s oil pan and suspension because of this.
Today, I was once again routed through a road that is completely unsuitable for low-clearance cars. I would like to highlight the specific issues with your current routing logic in regions with developing road infrastructure like Ukraine, and suggest key improvements:
1. The "Crossover/SUV" Speed Fallacy
In Ukraine, compact SUVs (locally called "parketnyky") are highly popular. These vehicles can easily maintain a speed of 70–90 km/h on heavily damaged or potholed roads.
The Problem: Your algorithm sees this GPS speed data and assumes the road is "good." In reality, for a low-clearance subcompact, these speeds are impossible, and the road is a hazard.
The Reality: In Ukraine, a truly "good" road is characterized by average speeds of 90–120 km/h. An average speed of 70–90 km/h usually indicates a road suitable only for SUVs. Please reconsider how speed limits and actual user speeds define "road quality" in your routing algorithms.
2. Implement a "Low Clearance / Subcompact" Vehicle Profile
Currently, the option to "avoid difficult/unpaved roads" does not solve the issue, as many paved roads in Ukraine are severely deteriorated but not classified as "dirt roads."
The Solution: Allow users to select "Low Clearance / Subcompact Car" in their vehicle profile. The routing algorithm should then heavily deprioritize secondary or poorly rated paved roads for this profile.
3. Pothole Density Algorithm
Currently, users can report individual potholes.
The Solution: If multiple pothole reports are flagged by users on a single short stretch of road, the algorithm should recognize this not just as "potholes," but as a completely degraded road. Such segments should be automatically flagged as "difficult" and excluded from standard routes.
4. Offline/No-Signal Reporting Limitations
In many remote or poorly maintained areas in Ukraine, mobile internet connection is unstable or non-existent. Users physically cannot report potholes in real-time. This means the worst roads often appear "clean" on your map due to a lack of reports.
Incorporating these changes would not only save many drivers from expensive car repairs but would also make Waze the undisputed leader in smart routing for eastern European markets.
Thank you for your time and dedication to making navigation safer.Dear Waze Development and Product Team,

Waze representatives can mark a location for users to follow up if they need more information and the users can get points or rep or something like that for answer the questions. Kind of like Google does when it asks about a place you visited, but strictly traffic related.
I reported a one way road that waze was trying to have me go down the wrong way to a park parking lot. The rep asked if the road on the other side was one way in. Since I was trying to go into a lot that's further in the back (the first lot is just where the address points to and I was passing by it), I didn't catch look for anything on the other road.Waze representatives can mark a location for users to follow up if they need more information and the users can get points or rep or something like that for answer the questions. Mark a location while driving for follow up for an issue
I know there's a similar idea, but no option to expand on it (maybe other users being able to expand on these suggestions would be good as well).
Basically, you mark a location, Waze gives you an option, to maybe record or voice to text a quick note so you can remember what the concern was later (maybe even say how much later), AND have some kind of indicator within the app or an email that will remind you later.1 vote -
Portrait mode AA small text and sign icons
Having issues with AA on my portrait screen in my Silverado. In the upper left hand corner the text and road signs are almost impossible to read because they are so small.
On landscape mode displays Waze is fine. Also if I load Waze on the Radio and use WIFI it is alright. It is just when running Waze within AA.

Give weighted route options for safety
Add a routing preference called “Prefer Major Roads” or “More Predictable Route.”
The app frequently recommends rural two-lane roads, neighborhood streets or poorly serviced back roads to save less than one or two minutes. These theoretical savings are often erased by farm equipment, school buses, slow vehicles, no-passing zones, poor pavement, difficult intersections or temporary delays that the routing model cannot predict.
Please allow users to select a tolerance such as:
“Prefer divided highways and major roads when they add no more than 3, 5, 10 or 15 minutes.”
The route calculation could consider:
• Road classification and number of lanes
• Divided versus undivided roads
• Passing opportunities
• Historical speed variability
• Road surface and width
• Cellular coverage and nearby services
• Lighting and intersection complexity
• Known crash patterns, where reliable data is availableThis would be especially valuable for families, young drivers, older drivers, commercial travelers, recreational vehicles and drivers traveling through unfamiliar areas.
The goal is not necessarily the shortest or theoretically fastest route. It is the most predictable, comfortable and appropriate route within the user’s chosen time tolerance.

Speech Enhancement over Ducking needed (Disability friendly!) for Android Auto Waze - please do not duck or lower volume of ongoing music!
Hello. Waze unfortunately aggressively ducks any other audio, such as Spotify or the Radio (radio/sirius used to be left alone!), which is dangerous and affects people with disabilities or sensitivity to sound, such as people who have autism or are neurodivergent. The sudden change in volume that was otherwise constant is highly disturbing and can overwhelm our processing, which is the last thing you want to happen while driving!
Please be kind and put a setting options for Waze to leave any volume alone and NOT duck any background noise automatically and arbitrarily. A better option to have, if needed, is for the Waze navigation speech volume to INCREASE instead and TALK OVER the ongoing background noise, such as what would happen in real life when someone like a family members calls your name while you're engaged in an activity. This is far less intrusive and is safer.
Please consider this change. I don't know if this will get any visibility as it touches on disability, but please consider this user friendly enhancement. Thank you!

Multi Waypoint Route Planning
Provide multi waypoint route planning, allowing shaping points for tailoring routes, and a library to store routes.
This could be achieved online via Google Maps and synch to Waze app, perhaps under a Subscription model.
Supporting export in GPX format would be a nice value add in support of this too.1 vote -

Feature request: Please allow Waze links (deep links) to include multiple waypoints or a forced route. This would make it much easier to share routes that intentionally avoid city centers, low bridges, weight restrictions, or other obstacles. Many drivers with trailers, roof cargo, campers, or trucks need to follow a specific route rather than simply navigate to a destination. Being able to share a complete predefined route would greatly improve safety and usability.
