Ability to select metric for distance tool and imperial for speed limits
This request is specific to the editor environment.
As I am in the UK, I must have speed limits in mph, so have no choice but to select Imperial in my settings.
However, this then causes the distance tool "Ruler" to measure in feet, however I want to measure in metres as that is what all the legal documents (Traffic Regulation Orders) show the new highway changes in.
At the moment, I am having to resort to google to translate the metres to feet value in order to use the Ruler, and would prefer it if Waze would show the…

Acknowledge really steep gradients in mapping
I drove to and from Lake District this weekend and there was a road with a sign that restricts it to only 'light vehicles and motorcycles' as well as no tracffic at all in winter conditons. It was a 30%/1:3 gradient and in perfect conditions my front wheels were slipping going up the slope. Any heavier cars may struggle, especially if it rains. There should be an option to avoid these sort of roads or for editors to atleast be able to add permanent hazards.

thank you for considering adding low bridge and unsuitable roads for larger vehicles :)
Low Bridge and unsuitable road warnings would be great for larger vehicle operators thank you... and a big thank you for Waze in general :)

Make Issue Tracker keyboard (next/previous) shortcuts more prominent
Some editors still have difficulty using the Issue Tracker, and some are totally against it, preferring to use the UR-MP script. One reason this may be the case is that it's not completely obvious how to navigate between the issues.
My suggestion is to make the Keyboard Shortcuts for "Next" and "Previous Issues" more prominent, showing them at the top of the Issue Tracker panel. This may encourage more editors to use the feature.

Make hazard potholes permanent
Dear Waze Team,
Please consider adding the option to mark potholes as permanent hazards, similar to how permanent speed cameras are handled. In South Africa, many potholes remain unrepaired for months or even years. Making these hazards visible on a long-term basis would significantly improve road safety and help drivers avoid costly damage, accidents, and injuries.
This feature could make a real difference in countries where road maintenance is lacking, and it aligns perfectly with Waze’s mission to improve driving experiences through community-driven insights.
Thank you for your consideration!

Voice Reports
Voice Reports should be initiated by a Voice Command like "Haey Wzae Report Object on Road" instead of pressing mic button

Unify the number of lanes fields in the WME Lanes & Road Width panel
In my opinion, it would be very useful to combine the two fields for the number of lanes in the left panel of WME. Currently, there are two fields: one to indicate the number of lanes and their width, and immediately below that, a second field to indicate the number of lanes, which allows us to add turning instructions. I think it would also be useful to save space by having a single field for the number of lanes, where we can indicate the width and, if necessary, add turning instructions.

Add start/end for average speed zones in WME and take them into account in the app
We need two new PH camera types for average speed zone start and end detection or a similar approach, which would allow the editors to map the start and end of average speed sections on top of the existing flag for the segments. The cameras would serve the following functions:
Indicate the start of a zone or a section in the zone - to be used for the alerts in the app instead of the segment flag. This would improve the accuracy and the experience for drivers who join the zone/section in the middle, including in residential areas where the…

Improve Segment History Reporting of Turns
Description: Currently when editors make most changes to a turn between two segments the segment history simply shows "Turn onto X road updated". It would be much more helpful if we could easily tell what was changed about that turn. Was is a turn instruction override (TIO)? A difficult turn? Time-based restrictions? There was a change in a value associated with the data model of that segment, so it's very much possible to have the segment history be more specific.
In this image there are three entries for turn updates to the same turn, but other than the TIO there…

Add keyboard shortcuts for setting a voice prompt override when a turn is selected
Please allow setting the turn override with a keyboard shortcut, when the turn popup is shown.
Define a set of shortcuts for all possible values (or at least for the main common ones, continue, turn left, turn right, u-turn)
You can show them on the dropdown, so that people know what key to use.
Example: https://ibb.co/hHZsXtMThis would save a lot of clicks (and would more likely prevent mistakes of setting the opposite direction) in particular when setting them over roundabouts.

Autodetect road types
Road classification seems to be a large source of disagreement and unecessary effort between map editors, part because we know it is used for routing.
The classification should be autodetected based on average speeds and not editable by users, like average speed.

Cropping tool for attached images
While adding images from the editor is a bad idea, it could be useful to have the ability to crop images. This could allow generally good image to be improved and kept instead of removed.

Select left hand drive or right hand drive vehicle
My car is a left hand drive vehicle however while using the app on an android headunit the directions are on the left side of the screen while the map is on the right hand side of the screen which is very hard to see. I suggest an option if your car is a left hand drive vehicle to swap these two and revert back if it is a right hand drive vehicle.

A road type for drive though's in the map editor.
When driving around in a drive through i always end up on the main street or in a parking lot. the "parking lot" road option is currently the best way to describe them but its not really that or a private road either.

Add a road closure once at destination
It would be really helpful to add a road closure on the map once you're at your destination. Often you are driving and can't do this, especially if you can't drive near the closure

Landmark and POI's categories
In WME, while editing the map, it would be useful to have the possibility to activate/deactivate categories of Landmarks/POI’s – something similar to Map Layers: I do not need to have all the categories visible and somehow polluting the map with Landmarks/POI’s like Park, Beach, River, etc.
So, the idea is to have the possibility to select those categories I want to see and deactivate those less interesting for the day-to-day editing.
Thanks.

UR feed should include recently edited areas
After modifying an area, both senior and junior editors should pay close attention to new URs in that area to alert them of possible errors or oversights. To facilitate this, an editor's WME feed should list URs occurring in a localized area where that editor has recently made significant changes, e.g. "Near recent edits".
There should be some kind of threshold to this behavior, so that making a minor edit in a dense, heavily-Wazed area with many URs does not unleash an onslaught of unrelated URs in one's feed. The threshold may need to depend on the rank and activity…
