Improve the GPS points layer
To branch off the discussion from the WME release topic:

I would find GPS points much more useful if they were color coded by age rather than direction. Th arrows provide useful direction, but in areas where traffic patterns are changing due to construction, knowing the age of the trace would be far more useful.

It could help if the GPS traces were the same original color, but shaded darker for older data.

I'd be all for somehow showing the age of the GPS points. Especially the more recent data seems of interest to me. Something like "last 7 days", "last 30 days" or "older" would work great as brackets for colouring, I think.
The issue with that is probably that it would allow you to track certain users in areas with not as many users. With no indication of age, this is a lot harder to do right now. But in theory this could be taken into account by not showing the age when there is little data.

I think the color scheme is just fine - what is more important is to understand when the GPS traces are from. How about a slider with a control point on each end, that you can use to select the oldest and newest to display? The GPS points displayed would then be indicative of the selected date range.

A time based filter would be great. If no time based filter, how about just adding date data to the tracks?
If some date data was added to the GPS tracks, I'm sure a script writer could have this done quickly.

Consider to have less GPS points shown on WME by not showing those resulting from users on airplanes.
Maybe a filter for those resulting of speeds ... let's say ... higher than 300 km/h, should not be considered for WME purposes and not shown to editors.

This would be great for example road construction you could tell if the traffic was decreasing due to a closure.

Agreed.
But also GPS tracks have been disappearing from the map at an approximate rate of fortnightly recently. We need this fixed too.

In areas where there are changes in road geometry, especially if they are not high traffic, it would be very valuable to know how old GPS traces are. Since the traces already show as arrows point direction of travel, I would suggest using the color to indicate age rather than direction.

I have two main suggestions about GPS tracks :
- I would be great to see how old they are
- We should be able to filter them by date - for closures or tracing new roads for exempleI'm not sure if it's possible on your side, but it would be helpful for all of us!
