We plan to work on Quick-report presets in the near future. In the meantime, make sure you’ve got the latest version of Waze for all the latest features.

Waze often choses strange different routes because your main one is jammed. We all know that.
The issue I find here is that the chosen alternate routes sometimes are deemed best because no wazer has gone through them yet to report their jam. So Waze easily skips one jam in your main route to lead you to another unnoticed jam.
Often, alternate roads are well known to be jammed at certain times (daily peak hours, soccer days, etc..), so no zone-savvy wazer would drive through them (and thus their jams and traffic status are not reported to waze servers).
I think Waze should take into account the jam's history at least in the main roads, and use that knowledge to weight in the alternate route and choose less frequently used roads. This would partially avoid it guiding you through roads that are well known to be jammed every day (even if no one has reported their jam yet). It should only guide you to those roads when there is no other choice.
