Dear Waze Team,
I recently faced an emergency trip from Upstate New York into the city, and I’d like to share how a small feature enhancement could make a big difference. During my drive, Waze suggested an alternate route that involved a smaller highway with traffic lights, usually about 10-15 minutes longer than the main thruway. Because I was in a hurry, I assumed the main route’s delay was minor and chose not to take the exit.
However, once I passed that decision point, I found out the delay was actually close to an hour due to unexpected construction. This turned my urgent trip into a stressful experience, as I ended up being very late.
It would be extremely helpful if Waze could display both how much time I would gain by taking the suggested alternate route and how much I’d lose if I stayed on the original highway route, even before I reach that exit. In emergencies, having that comparison early on would help users make more informed and less stressful decisions.
Thank you for taking the time to consider this suggestion. I’m sure it would be a great help to many others as well.
Best regards,
