Add pause option for stops
Add pause option to client, that could be activated when stopping by at a gas station or other places, so that heavy traffic is not indicated. It could unpause automatically when the car start moving
Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

I think that the "are you in traffic" warning message should default to "no" (it may now, but it didn't recently, and I've tried to be exceptionally vigilant in "switching off" whenever I stop, so I haven't seen the warning recently). But a way to pause and not have to fully switch off would be AWESOME.

Yes This would be awesome! That way i don't have to "think" about turning on Waze. Instead Waze would just turn on as soon as Car Mode is detected,
Since Waze needs all the data they can get, this is the best "automated" feature to add

I thought this had already been released?

I'm confused by this request and all the comments... when i use waze it does not automatically mark my stops as traffic. It will ask me if i'm in traffic and the default is "no" so even if i don't answer (i.e., i'm out of the car pumping gas, etc.) it will mark it as not in traffic.

I just popped back in to see what's been updated and can't believe either that this hasn't been done!!!!
All the traffic jams in areas I know have no traffic, but a popular coffee stop or gas station...just huge oversight
Funny how in April 2011 "krankyd" said it's planned...now July 2012 -

I'm amazed that waze marks all stops as bad traffic - to the extent I don't really want to use it because I don't want to upload traffic jams where there are none. I don't want to be routed down different roads just because another Waze user stopped for petrol!
I agree with a commenter that any stops should be prompted to be marked as traffic by default (as you'll have plenty of time to do so if you are in traffic) - or some similar solution.
This seems like a huge oversight by the devs, lets hope they can fix quickly.

I was really surprised to see that this option is still not there. It is present everywhere else, and is a must. This week alone my waze reported 5 traffic jams where I just stopped to have a look at the map or to talk on my cell phone.

I like the paused feature that people are discussing regarding this idea

I trigger false jams all day on my delivery route. A quick pause or maybe let the "Are you in traffic" warning linger for 3 or 4 minutes so when I get back I can hit no, would really help with that.

To me, waze should by default pause, and ask if instead there is a traffic jam. So, if there is traffic jam, you have all the time in the world to push the jam button :)
If you dont push, or it is something negligible, or it was a pause.... -

a "parked" button is the idea. So you can WALK or just view the traffic before leave your office/house to check traffic

Killing the app and restarting it is not viable in areas with poor coverage. Upon restarting the app it can take Waze several minutes (and several miles) before it starts working fully again. Often I know how to get to the gas station but need waze to tell me where to go after I fill up.

Today was the first day I used Waze (downloaded it last night). On the way to work I stopped for fuel and Waze assumed I was in a traffic jam. The pause navigation is a must have and a huge oversight by the developers.

Is this necessary? On my iPhone version, if I hit the turn off Waze button while nav is active, then when it start it again it asks me if I want to resume navigation. Isn't that what's being asked for here?
