STOP 180° car rotation when standing still
So I come to a stop light, and after a while, my car and map (not the screen) rotates, I guess, as it thinks I actually did make a U turn. Problem is my speed is 0km/h. It happens even when you have a destination to navigate to, and then, all of u sudden, I'm turned around and I'm being shown to make first to the right. choose navigation type on navigation screen and on route picker
To switch between Shortest or Fastest you have to go into settings->navigation->type and choose shortest or fastest. I often switch between these modes when picking my route so it would make sense to have that option available in the same screen as where the routes are chosen AND on the "navigate to" screen.

In-app segment appearance for Unpaved / Pedestrian segments
As of now, different segment types almost all look identical in Waze. Offroad / unmaintained already have has its own look, so it would seem logical to get a visual differentiation for pedestrian segments and unpaved roads.
- Unpaved roads could get a "speckled" or '"hashed" look (https://waze.uservoice.com/forums/59223-waze-suggestion-box/suggestions/46149703-show-unpaved-roads-differently-in-app).
- Pedestrian segments could look just like on the live map.

Option for "Safety-Aware Routing" Prioritizing Shelter Proximity
I suggest adding a routing option that allows users to find routes optimized not just for speed, but also for proximity to designated safety shelters (e.g., bomb shelters, emergency shelters) along the way. In emergencies, knowing you're on a path with quick access to a shelter could be crucial. This would be different from navigating to a shelter, but rather keeping shelters nearby while en route to a destination.

Hi Ella and colleagues, I have a waze suggestion. Please ask the Waze engineer to please add an option in the Settings of the App for the end-user: please let me explain first. Waze no longer is asking for re-routing permission - Waze now just dynamically (automatically) re-routes now in the middle of navigating. And I understand why, this is because to minimize distraction. Don't show "Continue Straight" until shortly before it's needed
Showing a continue straight as next turn hundreds of km before it's reached is annoying. I'd like to know what my actual next turn is. While it can be useful in many situations it's not needed until shortly before you reach it.
I suggest only display in app when the first prompt for it is announced.
Example:
In the example, I'm already on I-95 N. I don't need to know that in 76 miles I need to continue on I-95 (it actually started displaying about 200 miles before)

Add a temporary traffic light option
For example, when there is road work, they put up temporary traffic lights, so add the option for people to report it.

Collaborative Routing
Waze works like the most other Navigation Apps. You can choose between 1 and 3 different fixed routes, that sometimes slightly change when there is a lot of traffic ahead. The problem is, that Waze works like a broadcast as far as I know.
So when Route 1 have heavy traffic, all other users get Route 2 to avoid traffic. The problem here is, that new heavy traffic will be created to avoid the first.
All cars following the same alternative route.

Waze for Trucking
We should have the option to input our clearance height and weight restriction to avoid routes that we can’t navigate. When the gps sends us down a wrong street with bridges with weight restrictions or towards an overpass with low clearance, it’s hard to find a turnaround point. Restricted points can be easily sourced through driver submissions to verify information in that area. There’s been plenty of times that I finish my route and the trucking app we used will automatically kick me out to where I can’t navigate using a predetermined GPS, so I opt to use Waze, but…

Add more stops
Add more stop points as many people have long routes like 1500km and want to stop at many towns.
With Google maps you can plan long trips with many stops.
It makes it difficult to add places the entire time while driving.

Display route with toll and no toll
When navigating to a place, display on the map the route with tolls and the route with no tolls. Having to turn on and off the avoid toll to compare both routes is an extra step that can be eliminated when planning a drive.

Don’t change the route automatically during trip navigation
I don’t want Waze to change the route automatically without my permission after I chose at the beginning. It happens I choose a ruote and then, just for avoiding few minutes of traffic, I have to pay more highway and more fuel for longer route. The inability to repeat directions is a major flaw of Waze.
A button for repeating directions is critical. Please revise the software.
