Create shortcut to go to location and alert user of journey (replicate Glympse functionality)
I have noticed that Waze now offers location sharing. I would like for it to completely replace my need for running Glympse in tandem. Ideally, if I could have a shortcut icon on my phone home screen that started navigation to "Home", and shared my location with my wife, this would be great. Many thanks.

Keep same web link when sharing via (follow my drive)
If like waze to be able to either allow for a vanity web address unique to each Wazer when they select to share their drive for people to follow their progress via the web or at least keep the web address the same for a set number of hours. If I share my drive and close Waze at anytime during my drive and reopen it, I then have to share my drive all over again with a different URL. If you allow the ability to create a vanity URL with the wazers username it would be easier though. Then they…

Assign color to app in notification bar
Is there a way to assign a color to the application when you drag down your notification bar on the android app? When you take a call and need to bring waze back up, it would stand out better with a color. Google maps has a color and is very easy to bring back while driving.

New Features for Personalized Preventative Maintenance Planning
Waze would be more useful to me (as someone who drives the same route usually every day) if it had features that would help me plan out maintenance on my vehicle. Why not build a feature that allows you to enter your car model, year and mileage (and subsequently any maintenance tasks) and forecasts your maintenance tasks? I'm guessing that the trip data gathered already would help to optimize and tailor a maintenance schedule, this is something that I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in thinking would be a useful feature.

Questa è bella. Due settimana fa mi è successo di incrociare una pattuglia di vigili urbani appostati a fianco di un autovelox fisso del tipo VELO OK (colonna arancione). Questi VELO OK sono veri e già segnalati sulla mappa, solamente che il più delle volte NON SONO ATTIVI e la gente del posto magari ne è a conoscenza. La furbata del Comune e della Polizia Locale è di appostarsi a fianco di una di queste colonne VELO OK, con un autovelox mobile/telelaser. Ho provato a segnalarlo, ma la segnalazione non viene accettata perchè la intende come colonnina arancione VELO Ok…

So I'm just saying that I really am proud of the points I've earned and the position I've obtained in the leaderboards; I really enjoy helping others.
But when I look at the top 10 overall and see that they have 63x more points then me, I wonder... is this even possible?

Replace usual "danger icon" by an icon with an image showing type of danger, easier to identify while driving
It should be an great idea to replace actual "danger icon" by different icons showing type of danger.
With actual one, we can identify a danger, that's great, but while driving, it is sometimes difficult to handle smartphone to identify danger origin.
"An image equal 1000 words", so just have a look on smartphone display is better than handle to recognize type of danger !7 votes -

UX for switching from navigation to alerts only
I use Waze every day. I also park in a garage every day. To that end, I go from navigation to alerts only and back, at least every day.
I would like you to look at the UX involved in swapping from one mode to the other. I think it should be easier to do this directly from the app - not from the menu below the main screen.
When I am navigating, I have to tap the bottom bar, open up the next screen, tap the speaker icon, select the alerts only switch, then hit close and close again.

Alerts on “Map View” when choosing routes
Whenever you type a destination it gives you 3 route options with lines in “List View” that show potential hazards, traffic and visible police. You should also have those same hazards show up when you click “Map View” and see the 3 different colored routes, so there is a better visual as to where those “alerts” are actually located. This would be easier than having to guess by the line.

Hello, I want to use Waze with Android Auto with all map on screen, there is a way to take out the left window with destination?
I have 8 inch screen but the left half part of this is hidden by destination window. Unnecessry on the driving, already know where I want to go.

Use the exisitng framework to allow
"On My Waze" - provide an option for a traveller to notify recipients(loved ones - clients - etc) where they are on their way home for the night or to an appointment.
Michelle (16, young driver) sets option to notify her parents when passing major landmarks on her way home late after sports practice.
Notifications reach her parents periodically:
"Taking highway 385 at exit 27."
"Got off 385 at exit 25."
"Stopped at Sharon's house." (drops her off after practice usually)

Externalize performance parameters as configuration.
Living in a tropical country, driving with my phone under the windshield of my car, for an hour or so, at 35°C, my phone gets so hot it could burn a hole through my pocket. (My phone is a Motorola RAZR i)
I think Waze has a high demand for memory and processing power, to be as responsive as it is.I am guessing that Waze has a lot of automatic tasks that run "every x seconds" to update the road reports, ETA, friends list, reports for you to thumbs up and so on.
I think Waze could make that…

Show winter road restrictions
In parts of the U.S., winter conditions warrant tire chains on truck tires over mountain passes. One example is Route 9 in southern Vermont as well as others out west.

Notification for gas stations rest erea text erea
It's happening that you run out of gas and you miss the gas exit.
You want to stop by the rest erea and you miss the resting erea exit.
You want to stop to text and you miss the texting erea.
A lot of the times when you see the exit sing it's to late to stop.
Waze should have the option for a pop up notification a mile or 2 before.
