Need for Brazilian app: new category for segment (viela) like (dirt roads)
In Brazil government allow traffic in "viela", first "viela" is a drivable road normally between houses. At the moment this segment is categorized/translated as "pedestrian broad walk".
I suggest that that a new type of segment is created "viela" for Brazilian app and Waze editor, since it doesn't share the same restrictions as "pedestrian broad walk".
I also suggest the creation of a button like the existing "dirt road" since some drivers don't like to use "viela" to move arround.

Bring back being able to just change the display name within an existing account.
Would like have the ability to change my seen display name on the map without having to create a new account....Just like it was before.

Make switching avoid highways on/off easier
Often times during my commute I need to know if it's quicker to continue using highways or go local. Currently this means navigating several sub-menus which is distracting, dangerous and sometimes impossible. It would be nice to have a quick option on the home screen so you can compare the ETAs and routes for both highway and local

Distinguish "avoid toll roads" and "avoid limited traffic roads"
Actually we have two functions "avoid toll roads" and "avoid limited-traffic roads" in one single navigation option.
It's needed to distinguish them, because we might want to use toll roads, like highways, but might not want to get a fine to have entered a limited-traffic roads.Many thanks.

Forward road-hazard reports to Highway Patrol
Sometimes I see the same dangerous road hazards day after day and I think local authorities would take care of it if Waze could only pass on the report (if only reports with a lot of "confirmations" from other Waze users).

It would be great if Waze had an ODB2 link
It would be great if Waze had an ODB2 link so that you could track fuel economy, see if you have enough fuel for your journey, warn you when fuel was getting low, and suggest navigation to the nearest cheapest fuel station. Bluetooth ODB2 interfaces are cheap and it is an internationally standard protocol which is easy to read the data from. You could do so much with this.

Time Until Turn
Similar to the ETA function, I'd love to see the estimated time (countdown, not time of day) for the next turn by the distance. That can be very helpful as distances aren't as inherent to people as time passage.

Search for food on my way
I want to see food that's ONLY in front of me an on my route. I don't care what's behind me. I want to search for Taco Bell and just see those ahead of me and close to my route. I'd also like to see all food ahead of me and close to my route. I NEVER care to turn around. That's against mans nature.

Distance by blocks or exits
Instead of by feet, notify turn distance by number of blocks or exits. This makes more sense to a human driver.

Camera accessibility improvement
When you click on the type of hazard you should be able to have a picture icon on the type of hazard and press on it and he nearly go to the camera instead of the two-step process of pick the type of hazard and then have to take a picture separately.
Four example if you click on pothole you have the option just to record the pothole or there's a camera icon next to the pothole tab and you click on the camera and it AUTOMATICALLY takes you to the camera or even better just snaps a pic right…1 voteThanks for your feedback. Routing quality has plummeted after the Google acquisition - please get it back in shape!

I am a passionate Waze user who has converted many friends to the app, and has become a top 4% reporting contributor (I don't participate at all in any other gamified apps or websites). But now my support is waning fast.
Ever since Google bought Waze, routing has progressively become worse and worse. I initially switched to Waze because Google Maps routing had become horrible - inefficient routes when there were obviously better ways to go, etc. Waze does awesomely creative things like telling me to get off the freeway at an exit then immediately…

Id love to be able to select the routes by plane view like on basic gps app that comes with the iphone instead of having the street names
Beeing able to select the different routes by plane view instead of the street names would be awesome. When i use waze its because i'm in a place i don't realy know much about. So I dont know the street names.
Beeing able to switch from street name and plane view at selecting the routes would be awesome!!

Add a "police are nearby" feature
Police move frequently. It would be. Nice to know if police were spotted near an area; not necessarily at a specific location. Thanks!

Use road posted speed limits plus user speeds for in route algorythim
This will help find a better route based on posted speed. Also if we could calculate average speed of wayze users in a route area to help adjust for traffic. as in this road has a posting of 50 MPH but average user speed is 25 this equals bad traffic and should re-route to a road that is 35MP with little to no traffic. to set aside from others who do this allow a setting to limite the number of in route routing adjustments. Some may become overwhelmed with to many re-directions on the fly.

Mood option for police officers.
I'd like to see a mood option for officers using waze. There would have to be a verification process where you upload a photo ID or something like that so everyone isn't using the icon.

I did a few searches and didn't see this posted so here it goes...
Some things are better in pairs. Using Waze with two people, especially on road trips, is a great way to maximize reporting and verification of reports. Unfortunately, the points only go to one Waze account and there's no way for both the driver and copilot to engage their social networks from one device. Adding a copilot feature would help with this scenario. Icons on map could have a copilot designation and both Wazers would be considered online - maybe only the primary account could tie into…

Ambulance / Fire
You have an option to show where police are visible. Please add the option to show where EMS (ambulance / fire / rescue) are visible.
