Dangerous areas in Brazil
Unfortunately we have some problems about some dangerous areas... Another person got killed because of a bad route... http://g1.globo.com/rio-de-janeiro/noticia/2015/10/relembre-ataques-de-bandidos-do-rj-motoristas-e-passageiros-perdidos.html
I think waze could have an option to avoid these unsafe areas...

This is an interesting idea but who gets to decide what neighborhood is "dangerous"? I can see this being abused very easily by flagging a neighborhood for the wrong reason.
And what happens if your destination is in that area? Would Waze take you there?

Please make this available in all countries. Waze takes people off main roads onto very dark and isolated back roads just to save one mile or a few minutes in travel. There should be an option to stay on well lit, well populated roads for safety.

Data for this could be taken from crime database

This feature is already implemented in some countries like Brazil.
Mexico should definitely be in the list. -

That would definitely be nice, not only in Brazil. I´ve been using Waze in Detroit and the rout it suggested back to the hotel took me to streets with barely no street lights, few houses, even fewer people and although driving with 3 other guys on the car, I confess I was deeply scared...

10/27/20. After watching Philadelphia riots and looting in the news right now, I would like the option to avoid ‘high risk’ or dangerous situations. It should be real time events AND overall crime statistics.
I have driven in nyc, Brooklyn, Bronx/hunts point, philly, Baltimore, and Atlanta. There are more than a few places where my first thought is WTF. Don’t make us regret using waze. -

Avoid dangerous routes
Ir would great and option to avoid dangerous routes.
In México City matters more to spend 5 or 10 minutes in a save Street than going though dangerous neighborhoods just to gain 5 minutes

This is an excellent idea, but not just for Brazil. The US can use this as well. Thanks for working on this. It could save lives.

in Germany cities have "Umwelt zone" = dirver can¨t go (via) there without ticket - I would call them ie. "Bueno Aires bravest".. So this is existing Waze feature, only someone (Map Editor) need to maintain data.

Did anyone try to contact your local Waze Map Editor community about this? Danger areas could be be marked in the map or streets there changed to "private" so that transit traffic will avoid these.

Use a crime map to plot routes that avoid high crime areas such as the hood.

In Colombia (Bogota), add the avoid dangerous zones feature (As last week a driver was killed by following Waze
route through a dangerous neighborhood: https://www.pulzo.com/nacion/razon-por-funcionario-banco-republica-llego-donde-mataron-PP537877) -

This feature is absolutely necessary in Brazil. People have already been killed driving in hazordous areas. A MUST HAVE feature in waze these days.
