Quick report buttons
It would be a good idea to place some (2??) customizable quick report buttons on the main Map/interface; in such way we can report speed traps/ dangers/ police while we are driving with a single touch (or double to exclude unintended reports)!
There are too many menu/options to make a report... the only way to put them live is to stop the car and going trough a jungle of options... ( :geek: and I'm used to that! I'm an android user)
Heavy traffic is fine... you're stuck in your car and you've all the time to browse the options but the other reports need to be quick and non-distracting!
Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.
I ride a motorcycle with a handlebar mounted iPhone to use Waze for Navigation and observing road conditions. It would be awesome to have a quick report for 1) speed trap reporting and 2) object on road - which is critical to motorcyclists. I hope they consider this suggestion.
Would love this also. There are a couple of these requests but worded differently. Would be nice to collapse into the one with the most votes (which I think is this one).
It would be very nice if this were customization via the settings menu. This would allow a user to select which actions they wanted for "quick reports". I suspect users in different locations/situations have different types of reports they use most often.

I was thinking about the same and I am happy that this idea is already logged. Please implement this soon it will help us, community of traffic reporters, quite a lot (which will make this app to all much more attractive with more critical updates).
I thought about this over the weekend. My idea was really light colored buttons (see thru) over the map for reporting major events without having to go into another menu

Another idea: allow me to record a gesture to report. e.g. I might draw a 'P' on the screen to report police, 'T' for traffic and 'S' for something on the shoulder. The user should be able to choose which items to add gestures for and record their own gestures (I believe the Android API has a gesture recording function, and I'd imagine IOS would have something similar). For those that require additional input, extra taps (e.g. 1 for medium traffic, 2 for heavy and 3 for standstill). Voice confirmation would provide feedback, with an option to cancel in case you screwed up. In that case there would ideally be the option to retry, with the position being saved as the position of the original attempt.
I probably miss reporting 75% of the hazards I see due to the complexity of the interface.
I also agree 100%.
I don't report many Police Traps because it take too long to get to the proper screen and I sure don't want to be pressing lots of buttons on my phone while driving right past a cop!
If it was just a single "Report Police" with the option to add more details (by voice!!), I'd use it most everyday.
I agree 110%. Make 3 buttons, a blue, red, and black, large enough you can touch them while driving. Blue for police, red for accident/ emergency vehicles, black for traffic jam. I won't report with the current set-up because I refuse to endanger myself or other drivers.
