It would be a great idea to add walking directions to waze. I use it more than google map because it shows places on my iPhone that my google map doesn't find! I walk most of the time as I don't have a car so please consider adding it.

Any news about using Waze for walking or is it exclusive for driving ?

For sightseeing, a waking mode would be fantastic.

This is an important and necessary improvement!

Google owns Waze, so I really don't think they would care that people use Google Maps more than Waze...
Waze is now their social GPS-traffic app for cars only. I seriously doubt they have plans to include a walking/biking mode to pull people away from their main map service and make more people use Waze instead of Google Maps.

Acquainted with Waze from Israel but now using it all the time while travelling. In the cities, without a car it is unusable without a walking version. Google maps has car, public transport and walking so I prefer using that application. I believe this is an undesirable situation and makes waze loose users

Agreed. Not easy to walk in cities and one ways are avoided.

Please please please add a walking mode, it would be very handy!

Additionally a bicycle mode as they can travel in places a car may not be permitted or in a direction not permitted.

Waze walking would be great. We are on vacation and are getting driving directions. Had to go to Map-quest for walking directions.

Street navigation would be brilliant imagine getting to destianation an want to find directions to a cafe shop or garage or place in that town by WALKING cool i think !!

How about making waze for walking people..so that tourists/ people who need to walk/run somewhere will be able to use ( without the traffic regulations that drivers need to consider/follow)...

If users have the motion data enabled for Waze (for parking spot identification) then the app could detect walking, too.

Either way, turning off the voice when walking would be quite useful. Driving directions while walking into a building are not helpful!

My kids use Waze when they walk; it would be wonderful if their ETA were accurate.

Don't know why Waze would report false traffic data when it obviously knows it's in Walk mode.

Don't know why people think it's less safe to walk than to drive while using Waze.

walk option would be great to get around an unknow city, i was just in Chicago, walked 1 hour to get to a place 10 minutes away. all due to one way streets. waze...please listen....add a "waze walker" option, instead of driving.

My husband and I were walking around DC last night and really could have used a pedestrian option!!
