Waze should connect with a weather API & tile mapping platform like AerisWeather to display live radar imagery while users are navigation to their destination.

It could have the ability to re-route drivers if heavy rain, hail, and other severe alerts were detected along their current route. The radar imagery would suffice for at least knowing if a driver can make it to their destination before getting hit with rain/snow.

I had to turn off voice because of those stupid fog alerts, and that made me miss highway exit twice!

Adding local weather to Waze screen. When using Waze through Android auto, I loose my temperature on the screen. Since Waze using GPS I think it would be great to have the local weather displayed on the screen as well.

I'd like to support this - last winter Waze led me to a closed road (probably because Waze makes it so difficult for Waze users to feedback when a road is closed), and then led me along terrible, untreated roads for what ended up being one of the worst journeys I've ever driven.

I can only imagine how difficult it would be to implement, but some way of helping users avoid hilly and steep roads in those conditions too.

One possible solution might be to have a toggle-able option for users to switch on, which only takes them along roads other Waze users have recently travelled along at a reasonable pace...

Focus more on safety / accident prevention / weather dangers, ie. deer crossings/road sightings (especially at night) - not just an icon but a sound so drivers don't have to take their eyes of the road, weather alerts, ie. tornadoes, interface with drivers to notify amber vehicle recognition.

You should add a weather overlay, or alert for routes when driving. I know I drove through a massive thunderstorm on a long drive, and I was not expecting it. Was going 60, then had to slow down to 25. Would've been nice to know.

#1 - a weather overlay option to see when severe weather (Tornadoes, Hail, etc...) are in the vicinity of routes traveled.

#2 - Return on same route option. Sometimes I take a scenic route that was not the Waze Way, I would like to be able to return that same route and not be directed to a more common route.

We need a rain weather warning option (you know the kind where you can't see because the rain is SO bad). I could have used it 3 times in the last 48 hours.
And up here in Canada we need a Snow Storm warning too. We get white out conditions and bad snow storms people shouldn't drive through.
And no way to update Waze

Being an OTR trucker, the ability see the weather in front of me real time is vital. As it is, I have to switch to a weather radar app then back to Waze. One would think that this feature would be top priority in a navigation app.

I agree that heavy rain or blinding rain should be a reportable weather condition. Not just "rain", which doesn't need to be reported at all!! I live in Virginia. This past Thu the rain was so heavy that drivers were almost stopping on the highway, and eventually pulling off to the road shoulder. Drivers that didn't pull over were impacted by the limited visibility and had to drive about 30-40 mph below the posted highway (I-66 and VA-267) speed limit, with emergency flashers on to be somewhat "safe". Very poor conditions!! Several roads also had 3-6 inches of standing water on them since the drainage systems couldn't handle the significant volume of water.

Wonderful idea to make Waze a more sticky app...

Weather overlay. Especially for storms and warning/watches. So we don’t have to toggle between apps while driving!
