minimize left turns across traffic
In urban areas making left turns onto a busy street without a traffic light or 4 way stop can be difficult and add minutes. Ways should have a navigation option to minimize that. By contrast right turns onto traffic and left turns off of heavy traffic roads are awesome
Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

How about right hand turns only mode for a destination? Proven safer and saves gas too!!

For those reading this thread, Waze now supports a feature called "difficult turns" which editors can use to mark any turn that might be more difficult due to any condition including the ones noted here.

For me, this means no left turns onto busy roads with just a stop sign!!

Several times in traffic the application sends me down a route that turns out to not be faster, because the route requires me to turn left into heavy and fast moving traffic without the aid of a stop light. The application should allow people to note if they would prefer a longer route that allows them to only turn left with the aid of a traffic light.

When making Left Turns on busy streets with no traffic lights, can WAZE direct Drivers to street intersection with Traffic Lights. It would then be safer to make the left turns there. Would WAZE know where all the location of the Traffic Lights?

I would suggest that your system take into account busy, metro areas and even if a street has less traffic I'd rather you guide us to another street that has a traffic light when needing to make a left hand turn. Please!!!!!

As a person that needs to drive to multiple locations during the day for work I need navigation guidance that limits left turns or routes me to controlled intersections (stop light/sign) to make left turns. I am often in areas I do not know and get frustrated when Waze asks me to to make a left turn across multiple lanes in heavy traffic. Fast is important but safe is even more important.

Just like "avoid toll roads" option.
Helps a lot in busy cities and at rush hours. -

A single left turn from a busy intersection without a traffic light may easily negate any time savings and often increases travel time dramatically, to say nothing about safety. Based on years of experience (Waze Royalty), I avoid routes with lightless left turns; they very seldom save time and almost always increase danger.

Include switch under the route navigation next to avoid toll roads.
"Avoid left turns" would increase safety on many fronts

not only that, it seems to to like sending you to try and cross a busy road during rush hour... which could take forever in some spots as there's never a lull in traffic.. but if waze hadn't diverted me AWAY from the intersection with a light i would have made easily crossed the road in a couple minutes.

I use Waze in the busiest parts of Los Angeles. Waze frequently wants you to make left turns where there is no traffic light and where it is nearly impossible. That means now, I must just make right turn and let Waze reroute me. If waze could avoid left turns on major busy streets that have no light, that would improve drive ilmmensely.

Extra assurance against those pesky unprotected left turns.

and what about the fact that waze makes you make dead man lefts with no lights. its so annoying and I wanted to through it out the window last week. I hope they do something soon

I agree. The app frequently wants me to cut across a busy boulevard and suggests it will be faster. It does not account for the fact that the heavy traffic flow makes it impossible to cross. I then have to take an alternate unplanned route which means my commute can end up to be twice as long. There is no way to report the problem in the app so that it doesn't keep telling people to take this option. It also tells me to take left turns into heavy traffic to make an immediate right turn. It's extremely dangerous and typically impossible to do.

WAZE often tells me to make a left turn from the far right hand lane with only about 20 feet to the turn. This is dangerous and could get the driver a traffic citation.
