Ability to Select HOV Routes in Carplay
Right now, when checking different routes, you cannot select an HOV route in Carplay (they just do not show up). You can still select it in the iOS app, but for some reason the Carplay app won't accept the route when you select it from the app. It requires you to select a route on the Carplay app (which doesn't include the HOV routes).
The only workaround I found is to set the HOV route before you connect to Carplay, but if you update the route during the trip, it loses the HOV route ability unless you disconnect Carplay while driving, which is not safe.

Longtime user of Waze -- like from back in 2011 or 2012.
This is absolutely essential for safe driving.
As I detailed in my post to Waze's Discuss forum:
* Because I am unable to select an HOV route while driving via the CarPlay interface,
* If I happen to be legally driving the HOV lane because I have a passenger
* When Waze detects I'm in that HOV lane, it tells me to move over to the normal lanes both:
(a) by visually indicating on the CarPlay interface changing the route even though I'm legally allowed to drive the HOV lane, and
(b) audibly interrupting whatever I'm listening to.This distracts me from my driving again and again and again -- every time there's an opportunity to move from the HOV lane to the normal lanes.
That's extremely unsafe.
Please please please Waze give us the ability on the CarPlay interface to indicate that we're legally allowed to drive the HOV lane for a particular route.

Waze on CarPlay is great for turn-by-turn driving, but route selection shouldn’t be forced to the car screen. Many CarPlay setups are not comfortable or safe to operate (small screens, laggy touch, awkward knobs), so the best place to compare and choose routes is the iPhone where it’s faster and clearer. Requiring people to disconnect CarPlay just to pick an alternative route creates unnecessary friction and can encourage unsafe behavior while driving. Please add a pre-navigation route choice UI on the phone (like Apple Maps) even when CarPlay is connected, and then send the selected route to CarPlay.

I actually came to the suggestion box for this today, and I can't believe people had already suggested it almost a year ago. Come on, team, it's just making a function that already exists more accessible for Apple CarPlay.
