"Both lanes" reporting option
Add a "both lanes" option when reporting traffic jams, hazards, and accidents affecting both directions of travel at the same time.
Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

Great idea would be to pop up a lane bar across the screen, touch the lane affected.

Hazzard warnings pretty useless on multi lane highways without lane indication.
Would be great if pop up with lanes across screen, touch the lane affected. -

You should be able to say what lane the pothole is in.

or only exit lane is at a standstill on a highway so you can be prepared...

Suggestion: Do this with 2 check boxes eg:
[ ] My side [ ] Other side
That way you can check one or both. -

Any report of police should go out to both sides of traffic, due to the use of suv's and the ability to change sides or directions easily.

Make it easy to Mark White Lane the potholes in so that drivers are not looking for it when it's not in their lane. Enough distractions already. Also if we could market as a "tire eater" and know what lane it was people could avoid it better

Pothole needs a "which lane?" question... some roads are 4 olanes each direction...
Police needs a "which shoulder" parameter. Some roads have a center divider, and he might be on the right or the left side of my direction. If he's on the right shoulder and I'm in the right lane then I move one lane to the left to give him room. Likewise, If he's on the shoulder next to the center divider (i.e. on the left side) and I'm in the left lane I would move one lane to the right...
Police also needs an "other side" option... If I'm westbound and i see he's on the eastbound shoulder helping a motorist I can post a courtesy notice for the eastbound traffic.

Completely agree. The fact that this isn't already a standard function makes me wonder if the good people at Waze have never driven on any major freeway in Southern California. This just has to get more specific or the app loses its utility.

Lane 1 should always be the far left lane (or closest to center to account for my anglo friends), and then increase from left to right (or out from center) - this will allow for varying number of lanes. Lane 1 is always closest to center.
So when you post an accident, you can tag ig: "Lane 2". If there are four or five lanes, I know I need to get over to the right to minimize the impact to me. -

Also, the option for which lane or lanes in regards to accidents, object on road, etc

Ability to choose a single or multiple lanes (e.g. 1st, 2nd, left/right/u turn lane, 2 of them, all and etc.) when reporting an event - stopped vehicle, accident, object on road, traffic, closure.
It would be very useful and helpful feature letting warned drivers to prepare and choose a clear lane in advance. -

Instead of only having "hazard on road ", for potholes, objects, roadkill, etc., specify which lane the hazard is in, ie: right lane, left lane, or center lane, so that drivers may change lanes to avoid the hazard.

Cops in the center are using both the front and rear radar. If I place a warning on my side then drivers in the other direction won't get an alert other than the icon of a police showing up.

In addition to reporting "both lanes" and "all directions", allow the report pin to be moved around a bit by the reporter. You can't report an accident you see 3 blocks ahead unless you actively wade into the traffic snarl to get right next to it. Most of us will probably turn off early to go around, meaning neither a report nor moving data are updating routes through the area.
"Stick" the pin to the screen and allow the Wazer to scroll the map around under it, then tap a button in the corner to drop the pin on the map.

It would be extremely useful if the audio stated the full type of hazard reported ahead, as well as the distance. A vehicle stopped on the shoulder is less of a hazard than an object on the road or vehicle stopped on the road. Stating a generic "hazard reported ahead" requires the user to look down at his/her phone and promotes unsafe driving.
For on-road hazards, it would be useful to indicate the lane. Waze could present three large buttons (left, center, right) and allow the user to select one to two of them. This would easily cover roads two to five lanes wide in a single direction, so it could report hazards like "vehicle stopped on road in center-right lane in 1.2 mi/km".

You can still report police on the other side, but that is it. I HATE it that they removed the ability to report or verify warnings on the other side to the point I rarely report anything anymore.

I dont necessarily believe jn a 'both' lane option but l STRONGLY believe in a 'opposite direction' option: today an accident caused full stop traffic on the Merritt in CT. Knowing the road well, often this causes dangerous conditions because of the very many bends in the road. People will have to go from 75 to stop without much or any warming. I could have easily warned opposing traffic. Unfortunately police here does not use a unit to slowly back up on the shoulder, warning oncoming traffic of the jam ahead. So why dont we and make it safer? So: default is our direction but make an option for the 'other' lane. Thanks for WAZE!
