Abuse of Waze reports in Ukraine during wartime
Hello Waze Team,
I am writing regarding a growing misuse of Waze reporting features in Ukraine during wartime.
A significant number of users are currently using police/hazard reports and coded markers to identify and share locations of mobile mobilization checkpoints and territorial recruitment patrols. In practice, Waze is being used not for traffic safety, but as a tool to coordinate avoidance of lawful wartime mobilization measures.
Many of these reports are intentionally disguised with slang or coded wording in order to bypass moderation while still being understood locally by users.
This creates several problems:
- abuse of the reporting system;
- degradation of map reliability;
- use of a navigation platform for purposes unrelated to traffic safety;
- facilitation of organized avoidance behavior during an active war situation.I understand Waze traditionally allows community-generated police and road reports. However, the situation in Ukraine is unique and directly connected to wartime national security realities.
I would strongly encourage Waze to review:
- moderation policies for Ukraine;
- repeated misuse patterns connected to coded checkpoint reports;
- mechanisms limiting coordinated abuse of the reporting system in this context.Even partial mitigation or additional moderation review for these types of reports could significantly reduce abuse.
Thank you for your attention to this issue.

In South Africa - so many potholes, would appreciate it moved to the map screen so we could just tap on it to report!
Hi Waze Team,
Firstly, thank you for a genuinely fantastic app — Waze is easily one of the most useful driving tools out there, and the community reporting system works incredibly well overall.
One small usability suggestion: the current “Hazards” button feels a little ambiguous, especially when trying to quickly report something common like potholes while driving. In practice, it can add an extra step to find the option you actually need.
It would be much more user-friendly if the specific report categories were surfaced one level sooner, with the least-used options placed lower down in the list. This would make common reports much quicker and safer to submit while on the road.
Many thanks for considering the feedback.

Add station Rede Marcela to gas stations
Hello, Waze team!
I’d like to suggest adding the Marcela gas station network to the “favorite gas stations” section in the app. In my region, many people use Marcela stations because of their convenient locations, good service, and practicality, so it would be very useful to easily select them inside Waze.
This would help users quickly find Marcela stations during trips and daily commutes, while also improving the overall navigation and fueling experience.
Thanks for the great work on the app — Waze makes drivers’ lives easier every day 😄1 vote -
Adicionar posto Rede Marcela ao postos de gasolina
Olá, equipe do Waze!

Critical next turn alert
The Problem
Many users disable or tune out standard turn-by-turn voice navigation because it can feel repetitive or intrusive during routine parts of a drive. However, missing a specific "critical" exit - especially on highways or in rural areas - can lead to massive detours, often adding 10–20 minutes to a trip.
The Solution: Critical Turn Alerts
A smart notification system that triggers only when missing the upcoming turn would result in a significant delay. This allows users to enjoy a quieter drive while ensuring they are alerted before a "point of no return."
Key Components
• Time-Loss Threshold: Users can set a personal "delay tolerance" in the settings (e.g., 5, 10, or 15 minutes).
• Dynamic Notification: The app calculates the "penalty" of missing the turn in real-time. If the alternative route exceeds the user's threshold, Waze triggers a high-priority audio and visual alert.
• Smart Overrides: Even if the voice navigation is muted, the Critical Alert can be programmed to "break through" the silence or lower the volume of music to ensure the driver is aware.
Example Scenario
• User Setting: 10-minute threshold.
• Scenario A: Missing a turn in a city grid adds only 2 minutes. Result: No special alert (remains quiet).
• Scenario B: Missing a highway exit results in a 12-minute U-turn.
Result: Waze announces: "Critical turn ahead! Missing this exit will add 12 minutes to your trip."
Why Users Will Love It
1. Reduced Anxiety: Drivers can stay focused on the road or their podcast without constantly checking the map.
2. Customization: It puts the driver in control of what constitutes a "big deal."
3. Efficiency: Prevents the frustration of long, unnecessary detours caused by simple human error.The Problem

Add a “Share Suggestion” Button for Easier Voting
A dedicated “Share This Suggestion” or “Share Your Vote” button on idea pages would make the Waze feedback community much more engaging and effective.
At the moment, it’s quite difficult to share a suggestion with friends, family or other Waze users because the post links are not very obvious or easy to access from the search/results page.
A simple share button could:
- Increase community engagement
- Help useful ideas gain visibility faster
- Encourage more voting and discussion
- Make it easier for users to support features they genuinely want
This would especially help popular suggestions gain traction naturally through social sharing, WhatsApp groups, Facebook, Reddit, etc.
Even something as simple as:
“Copy Link”, “Share Suggestion”, or “Invite Others to Vote”
would make a big difference.A dedicated “Share This Suggestion” or “Share Your Vote” button on idea pages would make the Waze feedback community much more engaging and effective.

Report menu reorganization and favorites
It currently takes several taps to report things. Example: Report button-> Hazard -> Vehicle on the side of the road (-> submit report). My gut feeling is that is my most commonly used report, and I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case for others also.
Also with any report menu rearrangements/removals it becomes nearly impossible to find ones you use less frequently when you actually need them. Say "animals in the area" for example.
Being able to personalize the report menu order or set some as favorites would fix this problem.
I know voice reporting helps with some of this, but sometimes it's much easier or only feasible to tap rather than talk (ongoing conversation for example) and the user is sort of blind to what options the voice reporting will recognize.

Allow Traffic Events to include lane closures
When creating Major Traffic Events such as construction, sporting events, or races, we can close roads as part of the closure. The introduction of polygons showing impacted areas is fantastic, but it'd also be helpful if we could pre-populate lane closures. For example, often a single lane might be closed for runners and being able to include that in the MTE would be beneficial.

Color Coded Parking Icons
Color coded parking icons! Would be super interesting and helpful to take satellite imagery and user reports to code the "P" icon in green for lots of open spaces, yellow for minimal open spaces, and red for no open spaces. This would be easier for garages where users could specifically report it based on info screens.
