Add intelligence to traffic jam detection
Often users parked will cause a false traffic jam to be reported, yet when stuck in traffic it is usual to be crawling or moving occasionally.
When Waze detects traffic conditions and pops up the question of whether you are in traffic please change the default response dependant on whether the vehicle has been moving or not. If it has been totally stationary please set default response to 'No' as in a total traffic jam the driver will most likely spot the dialogue, only use 'Yes' as the default action when there has been some movement which is much more likely to be traffic conditions.

School Zone Scheduler Improvements
The School Zone Schedule editing interface for both individual school zones and community schedules needs improvements. First and foremost, we should be able to import an ICS file, many school districts make them available to download/subscribe. This would drastically reduce the workload on map editors when it comes to updating the schedules each year, and if the right logic was applied, we could just subscribe the schedule in WME and the backend could look for student holidays, with editors able to verify those days.
The above would drastically reduce the need the need for the next part, which is the calendar picker. If I choose a start date in December, the end date should display December, and not the current month. Doing a range on a single calendar vs two calendar pickers would be ideal. Also having logic that looks at the previous date picked when adding a new date and starting in the same month would eliminate the need to click a bunch of times or type in the dates.

Apple Carplay HUD Integration Idrive 7
I am writing to formally request the implementation of Head-Up Display (HUD) turn-by-turn navigation support for the Waze iOS app via Apple CarPlay.
I currently drive a 2019 BMW 320d (G20) running iDrive 7. While Apple Maps seamlessly pushes navigation data, street names, and directional arrows directly to my windshield's HUD, Waze remains completely incompatible with this safety feature on iOS.
I am aware that Apple's CarPlay framework has included the necessary APIs for secondary displays for quite some time, and I know that Waze via Android Auto already projects to the HUD on iDrive 7. Furthermore, while the recent version 5.4 update brought instrument cluster support to newer iDrive 8 vehicles, it entirely bypassed both HUD integration and widespread systems like iDrive 7.
Having navigation prompts on the HUD is a critical safety feature that keeps drivers' eyes on the road. Currently, I am forced to run Apple Maps for the HUD visuals while keeping Waze running in the background for hazard alerts.
Please escalate this to your iOS development and product management teams. The BMW community relies heavily on Waze, and closing this feature gap between Android Auto and Apple CarPlay would vastly improve the driving experience.

Add Support for Oval Country-Code Symbols in Visual Instructions
Description:
In many European and international transit corridors, road authorities frequently use the white oval country‑code symbol (e.g., A, D, CH, H, I, SLO, HR) on direction signs, gantries, and even road surface markings. These symbols are universally recognized by drivers and originate from the international vehicle registration codes defined in the Geneva Convention on Road Traffic (1949) and the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic (1968).Because these ovals appear prominently on real-world signage—especially in countries with heavy cross‑border traffic—they are an essential visual cue for navigation. However, in Waze they are currently difficult and cumbersome to reproduce in visual instructions. Editors must resort to workarounds that reduce clarity and consistency (create temp segment, add a white oval road sign, add to visual instruction, remove temp segment).
Why this matters:
* The oval country codes are highly recognizable, even at a glance.
* They are used on official road signs, across Europe and beyond.
* They help drivers quickly identify international routes, border directions, and transit corridors.
* Adding native support would improve accuracy, readability, and editor efficiency.Request:
Please add built‑in support for oval country‑code symbols in Waze visual instructions. Either as a dedicated icon set or as a simple markup element. This would align Waze more closely with real-world signage and significantly enhance navigation clarity for millions of cross-border drivers. Some examples of real-world road signs with oval country symbols:

Add Multitouch Support for Waze on CarPlay (iOS 26)
Starting with iOS 26, Apple officially added multitouch support for CarPlay apps (confirmed on Apple’s developer website).
However, Waze still doesn’t support multitouch gestures such as pinch-to-zoom — which makes map navigation less intuitive and even unsafe while driving.Currently, zooming in or out requires multiple taps, forcing drivers to take their eyes off the road.
This is not only inconvenient but also reduces overall safety. It’s especially surprising because:
On Android Auto, Google Maps already supports multitouch, and it works great — smooth, natural, and safe.
Even in the Waze mobile app (without CarPlay), when the phone is mounted on the dashboard, you can easily zoom in and out with gestures. There are no + / – buttons, yet it feels perfectly intuitive.
So why does CarPlay Waze still miss this feature?
Why it matters:
Improves driver safety by minimizing distraction.
Makes Waze consistent with Google Maps and the Waze mobile app.
Takes advantage of Apple’s new CarPlay multitouch capabilities introduced with iOS 26.
Suggestion:
Please add multitouch gestures (pinch-to-zoom, pan, rotate) for Waze on CarPlay.
It’s already supported by iOS 26 and would make a huge improvement in safety, usability, and consistency across platforms. How many cars actually support multitouch?
Far more than most people realize — multitouch isn’t some brand-new feature.
It’s been standard in many cars for years, across almost all major manufacturers:Volkswagen Group (VW, Audi, Škoda, SEAT): since around 2014–2015
BMW: since 2015 (iDrive 5.0 and newer)
Mercedes-Benz: since 2016–2017 (NTG 5.5 and later)
Ford: since 2016 (Sync 3)
Toyota / Lexus: since 2018 (Entune 3.0 / Lexus Display Audio)
Hyundai / Kia / Genesis: since 2016–2017
Fiat / FCA / Stellantis brands (Fiat, Jeep, Alfa Romeo, etc.): since around 2016–2017 (Uconnect 4 and newer)
Renault / Nissan / Mitsubishi Alliance: since 2017–2018
Mazda: since 2018 (Mazda Connect Gen 2)
Volvo / Polestar: since 2016 (Sensus system with touch interface)
In short — millions of cars on the road today already have multitouch displays.

Waze truck
Hello. Waze could implement a GPS feature for trucks, such as restricted areas, rotations, roads that have space for long trucks like trailers. I believe this feature would help thousands of truck drivers like me.

Wildlife
Within the hazards section there should be a report button for wildlife helping warn motorists to remain vigilant, which when reported also sends an alert to the respective wildlife protection agency in that region to send a dispatch to prevent the animal from causing an accident and becoming injured. This would be extremely useful in Australia as we have an abundance of wildlife that resides near our roads .

Allow "Map Problem" UR reporting using the 'Talk to report' feature to assist user to leave a UR while driving.
Currently the 'Talk to report' feature allows for reporting road hazards but does not allow for reporting 'Map Problems' such as 'incorrect speed limit' or 'no u-turn allowed.'
As a volunteer map editor, if I could tap the report button and say, "Drop UR here for ... " to open a UR with the UR type listed as 'Voice report' and the UR comment pre-filled with the voice to text input from the report, then I would be able to fix 90% more of the map problems that I notice while driving every day.12 votes -

Please add "school Zone" option in carplay. This option would be beneficial instead of "wazers" giving the "hazard" notification for a school zone.

From WME chance to see previous Street View footage
Currently, only the latest Street View shot can be seen from WME.
It would be interesting to add a button that allows you to switch to previous Street View shots (a bit like you can do on Google Maps).
In this case, it would be very useful to see how a street changes, or, for example, if a building is covered by a construction site, it would be possible to go back to previous shots to be able to see the house numbers covered by the construction site.12 votes -
Always choose WME items over Google Map items
A place (area or point or residential) or House number entered into Waze Map Editor should ALWYS be chosen over a Google Maps import in Waze’s Search.
This is very frustrating to users since they are often routed to the wrong location. It is also very frustrating to editors since their work to update the map is ignored. If a person searches 123 Main St, City, State, then their search should show the 123 Main St, City, State (From WME) as the first item and not 123 Main Street, City State from Google Maps. (With 133 Main Street, City, State from WME either down a few spots (with a different distance from your location) or not shown at all.One way could be to have RPPs get a link to google addresses similar to the way a Google Maps place(s) can be linked to Point Places or Area Places.

(2) When I driving along Interstate highways, and am looking for a Coffee or eating place along the Route, it is usually looking ahead. I don't want to drive back 20 miles to have a coffee. I am looking for a Coffee stop ahead. (3) Show rest stops as most other apps do. (4) Show Traffic Lights and gas stations

Vehicle Type - Van to be added
Under Vehicle Type in Settings, Could there be a vehicle type for Vans that shows the correct speed you can go on certain roads, as in the UK Vans are restricted on speed on certain types of roads like on a national speed limit single carriageway it 50mph for a van instead of 60mph, aswell as a dual carriageway it’s 60mph instead of 70mph.
