1. Segment restriction type that prompts user to confirm access (gates)

   Currently we create gates using PR segments. However, this rarely has the intended effect. Those with access (say a gated community) don't get a route through a gate this is most convenient or worse, if all entrances are gated, then restriction is meaningless other than to ensure it's not a through-way.

   I'm suggesting a segment restriction type that would generate a pop-up at start-state of a route asking if the user has access to a segment (gate) if that's the shortest route. Ideally, Waze would remember that for that user in the future. This could potentially be used for restricted locations like military bases, and private parking lots that require some sort of electronic access.

2. Use RTC history to create new RTC on the same segments

   It would be very convenient to be able to re-create a RTC based on the RTC history for one or more segments. This would also require being able to choose to select all segments that were included in the original RTC, as well as optionally proposing start / end times.

   Two use case examples:

   1) Recurring RTCs where the schedule is not known far in advance

   For example, there is nightly road construction on a given highway, but this may not repeat every night for various reasons. The actual closure is only published a few hours before, and so requires editors to scramble to implement it. This feature would save quite a bit of time.

   2) Recently expired RTC

   For example, an editor closes a road for a few hours after a major accident, but the closure actually lasts longer than expected. In order to quickly re-create the expired closure, this feature could be used.

   Currently when an editor uses the Forum Sharing Option to request an unlock, the request ALWAYS says "I would like to be able to edit the following segment(s)." no matter what type of object is selected.

   The request should be automatically based on type of object selected

   If segment(s) selected, no change
   If venue(s) selected, the request should say "I would like to be able to edit the following venue(s)."
   If they have any other type of object selected, the request should say "I would like to be able to edit the following [selected object type]."

6. custom layers and map editor colours / themes

   so I have used Waze for a bit and I love seeing the editor map with the coloured roads, but there's a few problems...
   - no support in night mode
   - can't change the colours, even if it's there to match the sign sometimes I want to have custom colours,
   - can't have custom layers, sometimes I want to have the alternate route 1 in Melbourne Australia white or create my own custom routes. a layer I would like to create is a mobile camera colour where a road that has mobile cameras and such shows up as a custom colour.

   If you could have google maps like custom points too this would change the way people use this app, custom cafe pin points created by communities or an old lady colouring in "that one path need to travel". A lot of the time I don't want navigation per say but I still want a pointer to where i'm going if that makes sense.

7. Disable segment geometry changes in House Number mode

   When in the "Edit House Numbers" mode, the Editor allows changes to segment geometry, but then generates an error when saving the changes. It is very easy to unknowingly edit segment geometry when trying to move a house number stop point. When this occurs, any HNs edited after that geometry change need reverted.

   Please disable segment geometry changes when in HN mode.

8. Temporary downgrade of own editor level

   I’d like to suggest in the WME a switch (perhaps in the user control panel) for downgrading the own editor level.

   For example:
   If I’m a level 5 Editor, but only want to edit simple streets which are only on level 1, i can switch my own editor level to something lower than 5 for this action. This would prevent myself for accidental editing more important street e.g. highways.
   Compare this with an account in the IT… Even if I am an administrator… I shouldn’t be logged in always as an admin but just as a normal user with rights just for my actions.

   An other example:
   Some tools, edits and so on are only available for higher levels of editing. To support a newbie with level 1 or 2 I should be able to switch also to this level to offer more or better support.

9. Select entire street also by any of its alternative names

   In some cases, it would be helpful to select an entire street not by its main name, but by one of the alternative names that it may have.

   For instance, here in Portugal we have a big mountain area where it is needed to apply recurrent road closures due to bad weather (heavy snow). Because road closures are carried out by the authorities in perfectly delimited areas, the Portuguese community decided to put exactly the same name on ALL roads of a same area, even if the real street name is a different one. By doing this, the option ‘Select entire street’ permits to apply road closures easily and quickly, without the doubt if all segments of the area are, in fact, selected or not.

   The option to have the possibility to select an entire street by any of its alternative names, would allow proceeding the same way as described above and, at the same time, keep the REAL street name on the main address.

10. Put the House number field before the Street field

    In some countries, House number needs to be before Street. Maybe this can be customisable by country? If not, I believe it's more logical to have House number first (smaller to larger).

11. No feedback provided if permalink is unable to select items

    Currently there is no feedback given if one or more items are not selected when opening a permalink (i.e segments, places, URs, etc.).

    For instance, I have a document with PLs of segments that are always closed during events (such as stadiums). If a segment ID is changed and therefore no longer linked in the PL, I have no way of easily knowing this.

    Please consider providing some sort of warning if WME is unable to locate all the linked items.

12. set none as default when selecting an event for real-time closures

    Most of the closures I add to the map (95%) need no traffic event associated with them because this is a minor use case.

    Now I still have to click the event field and select none manually every single time which takes unnecessary effort and time. In the meantime I could have added other closures.

    Therefore,, it would be a huge improvement if none was pre-selected.

15. Remove unpaived attribute from Off-road / Not maintained segments

    An Off-road / Not maintained segment is unpaived by definition and should not have the unpaived attribute. We encountered navigation problems to destinations on such segments because of this attribute, so in Israel we don't allow to set this attribute. New editors are not aware of this problem, and think that they should set it to unpaived, and we have to explain it to them.
    Please remove this attribute in this type of segments in the WME, and it will save a lot of effort.

16. Blocking edits when has unread PM

    Editors would not be able to edit in WME while they have unread PMs. The idea is to get new editors to contact you to receive instructions about wrong edits. Now we send PMs and they ignore and continue to make wrong edits which forces us to block him via CAR to force him to contact the community

17. Place Hours: Sunrise to Sunset

    When adding Places, especially outdoor places (such as parks, playgrounds, beaches, etc), there are often posted hours saying the Place is open only sunrise to sunset, or conversely that the Place is closed sunset to sunrise. Unfortunately, the existing Place hours interface doesn't allow for these kinds of hours, only HH:mm times. As sunrise and sunset times change constantly, and in some places drastically due to orbital motion of the earth and time changes due to daylight savings times, it is impractical to estimate open/closing times using HH:mm formats.

    It would be beneficial to both app users and map editors to allow for the app to determine/reference local sunset/sunrise times (which it already does for dark/light app modes) and use this to mark the venues as open/closed.

18. Limit number of reports that can be dropped in a small area

    This morning a Wazer dropped 17 reports in a parking lot. This is really uncalled for. The number of reports should be limited to X number of reports to X number of feet/km. It is OK if it is coming from multiple users, for instance an accident or closure on a highway. But one user should not be able to drop that many reports in one small area. This was limited to a small parking lot where this happened.

    The goal is to have a mechanism for attaching localities or hamlets to a city.
    The French wiki presents a number of situations (https://wazeopedia.waze.com/wiki/France/Routes_Nommage).
    There is also the management of districts or neighborhoods of large cities that could also benefit from this feature.

20. WME Road Types

    The current classification of roads on the WME follows the road types in the USA (Freeway, Major and Minor Highways and other road types).

    It is necessary to revise the road classification of the WME according to the real classification of each country so that each country can edit the map in a correct and more real way.
