  1. Allow us to mark where a train is crossing a road

If we could let everyone in our area that a train is blocking a road, it would save lots of time sitting at the crossing waiting and burning gas.

  2. About road closures from the app

Currently, the Waze app only allows you to set road closures in the direction of travel, but if you could select road closures in both directions, we believe it would be possible to provide more flexible and accurate traffic information.

  3. Mytery drive

You know how some people like to go for a Sunday ride? We'll this app would be for you.
A map app that you could put in where you are, how long you want to drive, maybe what kind of things you to see. And it would give you some options of drives and you could pick one. They would be different kinds like staying off highways, or include them. Ways maybe you wouldn't think of going. You wouldn't have to have a destination. It could be just a circle back to your house or to a destination with different…

  4. Mute Button for temporary stops

On the app, how about a mute button for temporary stops, like for a rest stop, gas station or restaurant that is off a highway? Not having to listen to make a u-turn every 5 seconds when a restaurant is a mile off the interstate, can be annoying

  5. Automatic approval of EVCS PURs from EVCS Feed Data

Since these come up from an automated feed (I am assuming Waze has some channel similar to Petrol Station PURs), is there a reason that Waze doesn't automatically approve them?

I understand that, similar to petrol stations, these need to be verified, to some extent. However, the scope of verification of these places could easily become unmanageable for volunteers.

Unlike traditional petrol stations, with EVCS, there could be any number of plug types, network types, payment types, etc., all at the same place.

It would be much better use of volunteer time and resources to automatically approve first (as configured),…

  6. Minimum Zoom level for URs/Issues Tab

It would be great to decrease the minimum zoom levels for Issues tab, which would help editors monitoring a larger area. Currently URs/Issues are only shown at a minimum zoom level of 12, which isn't wide enough for bigger countries like Australia.

It would be much more convenient for an editor to have this level reduced to something close to 10.

  7. Add "Road Under Construction" option in WME

I suggest adding a new option in the Waze Map Editor (WME) called "Road Under Construction", allowing editors to mark roads that are incomplete or still being built and not yet open to traffic.

    Benefits:

Prevent drivers from being routed to unfinished or closed roads.

Visually distinguish these roads with a special color or icon.

Allow setting an estimated opening date so the road can be activated automatically when ready.

Reduce complaints and reports caused by inaccessible roads.

This feature will help improve map accuracy and provide a better user experience for Waze drivers.

  8. Add Road Recommendation Options: Automatic / Recommended / Not Recommended

I suggest adding a new feature in the Waze Map Editor (WME) that allows editors to set a road recommendation level with three options:

Automatic – Let the system decide the road's priority based on current data.

Recommended – Gives the road a higher priority in route suggestions for users.

Not Recommended – Lowers the road’s priority in suggested routes, used only when no better alternatives are available.

    Benefits:

    Improves navigation accuracy for drivers.

    Prioritizes safer or faster roads.

Avoids suggesting problematic or less suitable roads unless necessary.

Provides greater flexibility in controlling road priority to better match real-world conditions.

  9. Please add "pause" function for Closures

The "pause" feature will allow editing/modification of segments affected by an ongoing closure. While the closure is active, those segments cannot be edited until the closure concludes or is deleted and recreated. Temporarily pausing a closure to allow changes allows editors to modify any part of the segment. This is useful for long-term closures where significant changes are made to the segments. These changes can be applied to the WME before the closure ends or the roadway expansion or work project is completed, allowing those segments to reopen to vehicle traffic.

  10. insert a + into the instrument panel to add intermediate stop

Add a command to add intermediate stops in driving instructions, (see Google Maps) the current maneuver is unclear and not immediately feasible when you are in the car

  12. Waze drivers in Canada should be able to report the locations of both Speed and Stoplight Cameras. This ability is not currently vailable.

Speed cameras are being used more and more in Canada, to issues speeding fines. This in itself is not a bad thing except speeding tickets are issued by computer even when only over the speed limit by 1 or 2 kilometers.

Stop light camers are increasing at intersections. Wazers can help slow down traffic for safety by reporting thes camera locations. Reducing speeds in these areas can save lives. Non-wazers who speed through intersections even when the light is red, should be fined and heavily !!

Wazers could help control speeds in critical pedestrian areas by reporting the locations of…

  14. Highways traffic officer

Proposal: Addition of National Highways Traffic Officer Reporting Option in Waze

In the United Kingdom, National Highways deploys Traffic Officers to manage both emergency and routine incidents on the strategic road network. These officers are civilian personnel and are not police officers.

Currently, within Waze, patrol vehicles operated by National Highways Traffic Officers are frequently misreported by users as police vehicles. This creates confusion for drivers who receive notifications of “police reported ahead,” only to find that the vehicle in question belongs to a Traffic Officer rather than the police.

To address this, I propose the introduction of a new…

  15. Option to choose vans as your vehicle

In the UK, vans on a dual carriage way must go 60mph instead of 70 and 50 on a single carriageway instead of 60.

Being able to choose van as your type of vehicle and having a different speed limit being shown would be extremely useful

  16. Ability to have multiple preferred "brands" of gas stations

Ability to add multiple gas stations e.g. in my area, I am a Costco member but also have some that are closer or nationwide that I have loyalty programs with, and would want to show up first, e.g. QT, Speedway, Murphy's)

    Development Idea for Waze
    Feature Proposal:
Currently, another app called Sidecar offers a feature that Waze does not have: it displays speed limits and traffic signs directly on the car’s digital dashboard. This feature is available on vehicles like the Range Rover Sport 2023.
The idea is to develop a Waze integration that allows:
Displaying speed limits on the digital dashboard.
Recognizing and showing traffic signs on the dashboard in real-time.
Providing drivers with essential navigation information without looking at the phone, enhancing safety and convenience.
This would require Waze to leverage direct vehicle integration, possibly through Apple CarPlay, Android…

  19. Add feature for people with Military Base Access to delete places.

People with base access should be able to delete place points and place areas for OPSEC considerations. When I noticed an OPSEC concern with a barracks building being mapped I had to notify a Discord chat to get the PP deleted. There should be a way to delete places like this without drawing more attention to it. Maybe if a Waze Map Editor has so many drives on post or uploads a DOD Cyber Awareness cert they could be trusted to modify on post places.
