Keep Waze on top so navigation always visible
I’m sure Waze used to remain visible over other apps. Google suggests Settings -> General -> Display over other apps but option’s not there?

Navigation avoid freeway is buried too deep add a choice for both to appear in routes as in Los Angeles always getting on and off freeway
Navigation is buried now I need to drive street or freeway all the time. Have a choice for freeway and street routes to appear when starting the app going back and forth is cumbersome and difficult if I need to leave freeway. Or bring choice to one click instead of three or four.

Volume
When getting Navigation audio through my cars Bluetooth, I find that the Navigation volume is half or less than my cars music volume, so the Navigation voice sounds like it's being spoken by a mouse in comparison! I would like to see improvements made to the Navigation volume.

Make gas stations ahead of you the default
Yes, if there are no gas stations ahead of me for X distance then yes turn me around but I’d rather stop at a gas station in the direction I am going

Search results not close to my location.
Usually, the first few search results are hundreds or even thousands of kilometres / miles from my location. Search results should default to the closest to me, unless I add more details on the search location, like town/city.

Android Auto Dashboard navigation information/Steering wheel control
Make Navigation information available in the Dashboard of the Car.
If I use google maps I have navigation information like "turn left in 400m" in the dashboard (next to the speedometer) and can use the main screen e.g. for music control or other apps.
Would be nice if Waze would also support the additional dashboard options.Also in google maps its possible to select the last locations in the dashboard with buttons on the steering wheel, but not in waze pleas add this also.

Take a break on Roadside Rest Areas
When traveling on a highway using Waze, on pulling in to a known rest stop, Waze eagerly tries to get you back on your route. Waze should be able to discern that you've taking a break. Suggestion: when following a route on a highway, and you pull into a known rest area, Waze should pop up and say "Are you taking a break? yes / no"
Upon the user responding "yes," Waze goes into a pause and does not offer any further suggestions, until the phone unit is detected moving at better than 15 mph. This would help reduce confusion…

Indications regarding the police
I am very pleased about the alerts of the app, however there is one alert I would recommend to eliminate: proximity of police. It may be that with this alert we are providing very valuable information to criminals that will be very happy to avoid facing police officers, even avoiding police controls displayed to stop such criminals. In the same way these alerts provide a heads-up to drivers that may be driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, under excessive speed or with non appropriate vehicles. Allow Podcast apps integrated
Allow podcast apps such as Libby and BorrowBox to be intergrated into the Waze app. Currently when I listen to a podcast on a long drive I cannot hear the navigation sounds and waze noises.

Servers combined
Waze is known for it's way of making you get to places quick and easy, why not do it anywhere, I was on a roadtrip to Mexico, and I couldn't see if there was any traffic upon my arrival to Texas, it was really inconvenient having to cross state lines while in Mexico, to see just the traffic in the US, hope y'all get the servers combined at least in Mexico, US and Canada

Touch screen lock
Lock the screen for unwanted touch. Same as netflix you can lock the touch screen but the video is still playing.
It is importent for bike user when you nevigate in the rain. The drops activate the screen and u have to put plastic bag over the phone .
Would be much easier to just lock the screen same way netflix does2 votes -
