REVERSIBLE ROADS
There are some countries (At least in Santiago, Chile and Mexico City where I live) that due to a high traffic times, some of the main streets gets REVERSIBLE, meaning that from certain times of the day the regular way of the street is REVERSED so the traffic can be more fluid. I would like to propose the facility of making REVERSIBLE roads

Add shields to on and off ramps
When a road type ramp has a route number on it, a shield should be generated for the navigation instruction. For example, a on-ramp named "to US-27" should produce "to <US-27 shield>". Similarly: "Exit 29: US-19 / US-23 / SR-43" should produce "Exit 29: <US-19 shield> <US-23 shield> <SR-43 shield>.

Vehicle "attaches" to road
I have noticed that the vehicle icon "attaches" to the road on the map. There are a couple of issues with this. When I am in an unmapped area, such as in a parking lot, the vehicle tends to jump back and forth between its actual location and the nearest road. Also, the exit I take on my morning commute has not updated yet, so WAZE tells me to take the exit prior to it. Even though I do not take that exit the vehicle icon does and shows me driving on the service road rather than on the interstate.
I think the vehicle icon should follow the actual vehicle location rather than trying to stay on a road.I have noticed that the vehicle icon "attaches" to the road on the map. Access to view live traffic cameras where available publicly on the internet like around Pittsburgh, PA..
In many cities there are traffic cameras posted on major routes. These are available over the internet and mobile phones so drivers can see live feeds. It would be great if Waze showed those along routes or on the maps so drivers can quickly view current conditions.
We should also be able to add these to the maps through the editor and link to the published URLs of the cameras.

Select Notification to be displayed
I miss a "Setting Menu" for "Notifications type".
I'd like to hide some notifications and let some others displayed (ex : hide "traffic" and keep "police" ?)

Suggestion on Live Reports (Cross Streets)
It would be nice to know the closest cross street or major cross street of the report. Currently I see only the street that the user reported it on. Some of those roads are miles long and it would help to know where so I may change my route.

Create a "soft warning" for known situations.
For example: A location where speed traps are consistently reported would have a warning in a radius such as "speed traps have been reported here." The color of the warning could fade from red to orange as reports decline or vice versa. There's one street I travel where there's a cop shooting radar 80% of the time. There could be a warning about that regardless of if a Wazer had been through recently.

Make lock button switch off the screen without locking it
It would be great if switching on/off the screen could be realized by the lock button with no need to unlock the screen. Code:
KeyguardLock kgLock;
public void onCreate() {
KeyguardManager kgm = (KeyguardManager) getSystemService(Activity.KEYGUARD_SERVICE);
kgLock = kgm.newKeyguardLock(TAG);
kgLock.disableKeyguard();
}@Override protected void onDestroy() { kgLock.reenableKeyguard(); super.onDestroy(); } @Override protected void onPause() { super.onPause(); kgLock.reenableKeyguard(); } @Override protected void onResume() { super.onResume(); kgLock.disableKeyguard(); }6 votes -
Display direction of new road (e.g. I-10 *West*)
Most of the time I get messed up using Waze is when I encounter a roadway or freeway turn where there may be immediate opportunity to go either way, e.g. I-10 East or I-10 West, or TriCity Parkway North vs. TriCity Parkway South. The display shows only "I-10" or "TriCity Parkway".

camera first
As a user option, allow me to open camera immediately upon press of REPORT button (as opposed to choosing the report type). This way the photo op won't be gone by the time I fumble through the type of report to submit. After photo is taken, I'll choose the report type, type in the details, and submit everything.

Symbian S^3 version for Nokia N8 and co ?
The Symbian S60v5 version can be launched on a N8 but it often crashes. Maybe the S60 version can be adapted to work better on N8 but you're the only ones who can confirm or not ;).
Thank you
6 votesAt the moment this is not planned, as Nokia itself announced the end of Symbian. Sorry guys.

Road goodies icons smaller or display under other objects
I understand the incentive idea of road goodies, and also understand you can just turn them off. But I would prefer another option which is either to make them smaller in size or be "under" other items (IE: roads, route, traffic coloring, etc.)

Voice Instructions: Bear Right, Keep Right
Voice navigation instructions use "Keep Right (Left) in 2 conditions making it a bit confusing: When on an undivided road approaching a divided section of the same road, and when approaching an intersection with a gradual right (left) turn. "Bear Right (Left)" would be a more appropriate instruction for the 2d situation.

ROADWORK: leverage roadwork feed from Swedish transport administration
In Sweden, public feeds of roadwork and traffic events (accidents) are available at no charge on the internet.
Please enable the display of these in the waze client. They could also be used for improved routing.

Let users customize auto tweets such as "Acabo de reportar una redada policial, ..."
Traffic enforcement corps are different from country to country so it might be a good idea to let users tweak their auto tweets a little. They might have the application configured in a language but tweet in another, etc.

Marco quilométrico em Rodovias (Kilometer Marker on Highways)
Through WME, editors manually added a pin at the corresponding kilometer marker on a highway. Clicking on this pin would provide the following fields to fill in: Highway, Kilometer, Direction. Up to two highways could be added to each pin, with the "Direction" field being optional and the other two mandatory.
In the application, when driving on the highway, in addition to the highway emblem (which is already visible), the respective kilometer marker of the main highway added to the WME kilometer marker would also appear next to it. Thus, when driving on highways, we would visually know which kilometer marker we were at. These kilometers would also be searchable using the application's search field as a destination option (Example: BR 116 - Km 555).

Through WME, editors manually added a pin at the corresponding kilometer marker on a highway. Add Ilya Rozanov / Heated Rivalry Boice
Please add the Ilya Rosanov voice from Heated Rivalry TV show Crave/HBO Max as a sidekick option. This is being discussed in multiple Reddit forums on April 11, 2026. This is a fantastic idea and will boost Waze usage as the fandom is global!

Automatically adjust the size of the text for turn instructions for longer text to fit more on the screen
Currently if there is text in the visual instructions or towards that is really long, Waze will end up cutting off important information that could be useful in Android Auto.
My suggestion is to make this text be automatically adjusted so more can fit on the screen but can still be readable with the naked eye.
I'm not sure what is exactly the best way to go about this but currently I find it not as user friendly as it could be considering us editors try our best to get all the information out there only for like a fair bit of it to be cut off with the current UI design.

Report temporary traffic lights using MapMate should generate a roadworks hazard not a UR
In the UK, when we have roadworks with an incursion onto the carriageway, they are often accompanied by temporary multi-way traffic lights. This allows the road to remain open, while controlling traffic flow over a narrow than normal bit of open road.
Since the introduction of MapMate reporting, we have noticed an increase in MapMate URs coming in referring to the presence of temporary traffic lights. This should not generate a UR, and should generate a "roadworks" hazard report.
I have raised this on the Waze Discuss MapMate thread, but it has been suggested that this feature is not on the roadmap yet. Adding this on here, as suggested by a UK Country Administrator.
