Navigation sound volume
Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

Seems like this was posted in 2010. Whoa.
The volume controls for Waze are a little jank. It would be great to have the option of:
- Separate volume controls for Waze voice, Waze notifications, Waze alerts. Option to enable/disable specific alerts.
- Separate volume controls for apps connected to Waze. (eg,Spotify)
- The option to adjust how much other audio is lowered when navigation is speaking (eg music on Spotify)
-The option to disable automatic volume adjustments completely if desired.I'm personally not having problems with the volume of the navigator itself, it's loud and stays loud, my prob is that I'd like to adjust the amount that my music volume is tampered with- it lowers the volume way too much, it's really not necessary, and it's jarring while driving to have music just conk out while im getting directions shouted at me, then the music jumps back in at the same volume- this "feature" is awful, I don't know who thought it was a good idea. When listening to the radio at one volume and listening to directions at a different static volume, I have no problem hearing directions. This argument that it lowers the music audio so that directions can be "heard" seems a bit flawed- in fact it makes it harder to hear directions coz im so distracted by the music dropping out then coming back lol.

Looking through the posts this is a long standing problem that has not been resolved, although the google maps app has a simple in app control.

Voice guidance volume, even when set to Max, is still much too quiet. We need to be able to either set it to a higher / boosted volume, have it set our music quieter while it's talking (I use YouTube Music); or both! I have tried a number of different voices and I cannot hear any of them when my music is at a comfortable volume - this is very different from Google Maps which is very easily heard.

needs to be some way to increase the volume. For some reason, the voice is so low I cannot hear it timely.

Ditto on the other comments that volume can only be changed with the hard buttons when Waze is actually speaking. Another issue I've found is I can set the volume where I want it when I am starting navigation (Waze speaking). However, when I plug in my Lightning cord to charge my phone (iOs obviously), then Waze either assumes I'm using the radio speakers for navigation or it changes the volume back to a low preset, because then I have to adjust the volume AGAIN while Waze is AGAIN speaking. I have an older vehicle and don't have Bluetooth, and the navigation directions DO NOT transmit through the radio.

Greetings,
It would be a huge help to have an in-app volume control that can adjust the specific volume of the WAZE voice. This cannot be currently done. Unfortunately, the WAZE voice can come through at uncomfortably loud levels while listening to say a podcast etc. I would love to see this addition. It would be a big help! Thanks and best regards.

As a motorcycle rider it would be great to have volume control based on speed. I'm constantly adjusting volume at stop lights so it's not blaring loud and then again up when the ride continues.

I have only had success changing the volume using my phone's volume button (like I do for every other app) while Waze is ACTUALLY SPEAKING. Very bizarre and inconvenient and I hope they fix this in the next iteration.

Yeah I like my music loud but then Waze ends up shouting at me! I'd like to be able to turn the volume down just on waze

Having the same issue. I have it on Bluetooth. Everything else comes through at a good volume level but the Waze app can barely be heard. I’ve tried everything. Can this issue be fixed?

The app volume is way too low. I have it set on Bluetooth and although all other sounds are ok, the Waze app can barely be heard.

When I started to use Waze it interrupted my music to give voice commands and now that has stopped and I can hardly hear it, please can you tell me how to get this back. I use bluetooth to play my music from my Iphone 7 to a device plugged into my car cigarette lighter. It used to work fine and cut the music to give directions but has stopped working now and I can hardly hear anything!

I’m an older man who really needs navigation help, especially when traveling unfamiliar roads. I just started using this app and can barely hear directions while driving. I see from comments that I’m not alone. I raised volume both on my iPad and Waze sound bar. The app is therefore useless for me. Now what?

Waze is generally awesome but the volume controls on android are an embarrassment to yourselves. it's a hazard to have to go thru several screens/menus to make volume adjustments while driving. you should fix this to be adjustable by pressing the up/down volume buttons just like every other app in the android universe. really - this has been an issue for years and is so easy to fix.

It's great hearing the driving instructions in my own voice, but the volume is much too low to be useful. Is there a fix for this.

I totally agree with that.it's difficult while driving to click on many buttons to get to the sound control

It's counter productive to have to go through 3 menus to get to the sound on-off buttons, especially if you want to mute the sound while driving. This button should be on the main menu

Wow, thanks. I didn't even know a control existed.

"Solution for the low volume on the Waze voice: The volume is driven by the phone "on speaker" volume. Make a phone call and put the phone on speaker. Turn the volume all of the way up and then hang up the phone. Waze volume will now work."
