Lane Guidance
While using Waze on highways lately, I have begun to think that having the ability to see what lane becomes the off ramp would be great, especially in complex city interchanges.
Great news! The Lane Guidance feature is now available in Waze. Install the latest app version to check it out.

It's not required to split the freeway segment into multiple segments to achieve this! The way to go would be to have the lane number ("lane number 3") or description ("far right lane") be an attribute of the exit ramp segment that is set by an editor. Waze shouldn't have to compute anything to come up with this description.

A series of unprotected lefts, routing me across MULTIPLE two-way, four lane avenues.... Are you fucking kidding me? You're going to get people KILLED you fucktards.... Fix your fucking platform instead of improving your fucking ad-delivery business.

I think this adds a layer of complexity that is overkill in the vast majority of situations. In complex interchanges, though, assigning a "lane number" (traditionally counting from left to right, at least in California) to achieve a specific exit could be valuable. I recommend making this an option available only to higher level editors (min. 4?) who are typically structuring such interchanges. It should result in an instruction something like, "Keep left, in lane number two, to exit 47, Podunk..."

Improve Lane guidance is important in tunnels for safety

While it might be nice to know what lane an exit is bound for, to do so would require constructing multiple lanes for the app and when they split into exits. More useful would be to deduce from the future exit and direction that the app would automatically create the side/direction/lane necessary to exit properly. This would require further programming that the current staff has shown is beyond their capability for complexity.

yes this would be a great feature for waze to support to give a good full screen lane information for complex turns

Lane guidance is also really the only practical solution when a road has multiple "exits" that occur at the same spot. I've got a highway in my hometown that has a point where the 3 right lanes continue straight, the left-most lane is an exit for a local street, and left lanes #2 and #3 are an exit on to another highway. Right now all 3 left exits share the "keep left" style voice instructions.

agreed. very useful for preparing to exit very crowded highways... especially when you have aggressive drivers who won;t let you over!!!!

Absolutely! To know what side, of the freeway to be on, or which lane helps to prevent the sudden last minute lane changes. I would consider that they view this as an add to improve safety!
Even lane guidance in town would be nice to have to know if my destination is on the right or the left side of the road.

Excellent idea, I consider it important that the details show a mix between streetview photo and the virtual line to follow.

Google maps is already doing it, isn't it?

There are definitely places that this would be useful. I find in my own driving moving over a lane or two only to find out that is wasn't necessary. So some guidance along those lines would be great.

I wish this was an option for some very complicated exits. I know my Garmin does this and I love it.

I think Google Maps has had this for quite some time...

This is a useful feature, I really hope this is approved, there are still important things like speed bumps
