Lane Guidance
While using Waze on highways lately, I have begun to think that having the ability to see what lane becomes the off ramp would be great, especially in complex city interchanges.
Great news! The Lane Guidance feature is now available in Waze. Install the latest app version to check it out.

Lane Assist at crossroads
As other software like iGO it should use lane assist to highlight lanes which to follow.
For example at 4 parallel lane it should highlight 2. and 3. lane to follow.

FIRST low quality devices mist be prevented from submitting location data. GNSS with error above 7 meter must be discarded
Cheap phone owners can buy usb- or Bluetooth external GNSS if they want to contribute.

It would be nice if the program showed lane guidance similar to how Google maps does it. I find myself having to use Google Maps in major metropolitan areas because Waze is not showing me what lane I need to get in for my next turn.

On UK roads (this may also apply to other countries), larger roundabouts sometimes have specific lanes for entering a roundabout depending on which exit you need.
To have Waze tell you 'At the roundabout, use the centre lane to take the second exit' would be really useful.
An extension of this, would be that dual-carriage ways through towns & cities, sometimes use specific lanes for at junctions.
Again, a properly implemented lane assist would prove very useful.
As far as I know, no other sat-nav system offers either of these.
It would be implemented by analysing Google Maps' Street View looking for white arrows painted on the roads.

This is an overdue feature for Waze. Waze seems to be giving fewer directions now than a year/several months ago, or that may just be my incorrect impression of it, so this is even more necessary now. (I think I used to get more "stay to the left ahead to continue on X highway" directions, and now I just find myself at a fork in the road in the wrong lane with no warning from Waze.) Long story short, I'm using Google maps much more than Waze now.

A motorway junction assist feature would greatly help avoiding taking wrong exits from motorway junctions. Maybe a super zoom down to lane level would be the answer.

Wondering if lane guidance will be available in a future release?

This is something Google Maps has and Google owns Waze so can't Waze copy the code directly from Google?

I would love to see lane direction similar to the way it is shown in curren google maps app.
There are certain junctions that are very confusing.

Anonymous, they've heard of the zipper, they're just far too self-righteous to let anybody in as if it's *their* road.

Agreed on this; surprised it isn't a hazard type already. If nothing else if I know that the *right* lane is closed I can merge over early and avoid fighting with other road users who have never heard of a zipper (far too common.)

I notice that there are large fluctuations in the traffic in certain lanes at certain places in certain times of day, days of week etc. If waze knew what lane you are in you could use that information to make recommendations as to the best lane for the moment. If you just add a multi lane attribute on a road segment when you are driving on that segment (if you have the option enabled) you would get a prompt to input what lane you are now in, after which waze could use the map, speed and accelerometer data to detect lane changes and prompt for confirmation. You could even help on the client end with a lane change calibration option. Invaluable as sticking to one lane compared to strategically changing at the right time can save a lot of time, even more on long commutes

Ability to notify of lane closures and mowing would be nice. Especially lane closures..that way you can get off hiway ahead of time if need be.

I missed ALOT of turns and intersection because i did not know what lane to take (or did not change lanes in time..)...
also in my country there's those overly complicated multiple exits (from highway) at the same place - lane guidance is crucial here...
