Please, please, please put more effort in the deveolpment of time based speed limits.

@Adele the reason we don't show the lower limit is because, when the higher speed limit is in effect, if Waze is showing the lower limit, every driver will keep getting beeped at by Waze for exceeding the speed limit, even when they're not.

It used to show the variable speeds and warn if speeding. Why remove such a good thing. Half the time I'm not sure what time in afternoon it is and sometimes miss the first school zone signs. BRING IT BACK 🤬. Unless you don't want anyone to use anymore.

waze is now useless in australia since they’ve made the choice to show the higher of the two speed limits. there’s a speed trap near my house and waze always used to show the lower limit of 40 but now they’ve changed it to 60 and many who don’t know the area will get demerit points because of this. if waze isn’t able to show variable speed limits can they at least go back to showing the lower limit? especially in the presence of speed cameras?

I totally agree! I believe adding time-dependent speed limits for areas like school zones would be a significant safety improvement. Many school zones have lower speed limits during certain hours, and having Waze provide a popup warning during those times would help drivers adjust their speed accordingly. Not only in school zones but we have many streets where speed limit is lowered between 7am-10pm or midnight. It is crucial Waze shows this.

Absolutely critical in Australia if you don't want to lose your licence! Every morning and afternoon I drive through many school zones and one in particular goes from 70kph to 40kph.

Road safety is number one, and the ability to lower limits according to local rules is crucial.

I think this is fairly vital~ having been a resident of a number of ‘tourist towns’ seasonal speed limits are often implemented at the same time as police presence is increased.
I’m also struggling to understand why Waze would show the higher of two speed limits~ this can mean an indicated speed limit 10+ km above which can be an instant loss of licence in Australia.

This would be a great feature.

In the meantime, we should just pay attention to the road like we used to before Waze.

Definitely need this for the 40Km/h school zones in Western Australia

Where speed limits are time sensitive for more than a couple of hours, that should be the speed shown on Waze not the higher speed as the default.

Any chance of adding in USA region-specific speeding alerts?

15mph over is usually fine, but in VA anything over 80 is reckless/aggressive driving so I end up changing notification settings based on what state I’m driving in.

In school zones, or on military bases, or sometimes just during mornings, in several countries, speed limits are reduced during certain times of day. Not that this applies to everyone, but on military bases there are also certain roads that go one way a certain time of day, and then the rest of the day, go the other way. Can we add this to waze?

Time sensitive adjustments are critical. Displaying the incorrect speed limit by 20km/h is ridiculous. That’s instant loss of license¿

This would help with roadworks as well
