mark/find free parking spots
Maybe you can add and option in Waze to mark free parking spots, like google "Open Spot" (http://openspot.googlelabs.com/).
7 votesThis was available in the early stages of waze, but was not successful at all. In areas where parking was needed, the update was not helpful, and was misleading as it’s hard to cancel an existing report.

replace top bar with reports buttons
The top bar displays some information which is useless for navigation. Maybe it would be better to replace these with buttons for reporting issues. Make it bigger, too, so those buttons can be pressed easily.

Severity alert of the accident / clear the way for emergency
Drivers coming from the other side can indicate in accident alerts the severity of the accident and whether there are any casualties or injuries, so that drivers approaching in the direction of the accident are aware of the situation and can clear the way for emergency services.

Feature Request: Manual Route Mode & Simulation for Navigation under GPS Spoofing / Electronic Warfare (EW) Conditions
In regions affected by electronic warfare (EW) and GPS spoofing (such as Ukraine, Israel, and other conflict zones), navigation apps like Waze become unusable. Drivers frequently experience their location jumping to completely different cities, countries, or oceans due to fake GPS signals.
Currently, when GPS is spoofed, Waze attempts to reroute from the fake location, rendering the app useless for navigating the actual physical environment. Drivers lose access to critical real-time information such as hazards, accidents, road closures, and traffic conditions along their true intended route.
Proposed Solution:
Introduce a "Manual Route Mode" (or "Spoofing Bypass Mode") that allows users to disconnect their real-time GPS location from the route calculation and progression, relying instead on manual inputs or simulated progression.
Key Features Requested:
Manual Start and End Points:
Allow users to manually drop a pin or enter an address for their actual starting location, completely ignoring the device's current (spoofed) GPS location.
Allow users to set the destination as usual.
Waze calculates the route between these two fixed points.
Route Demonstration / Simulation Mode:
Once the route is built, provide a "Start Simulation" button instead of the standard "Go" button.
This mode would simulate driving along the pre-calculated route at an average or speed-limit-adjusted pace.
Crucial Playback Controls: The simulation UI must include media-player style controls on the screen:
Play/Pause: To stop the progression if the driver hits unexpected traffic or a checkpoint not shown on the map.
Speed Up / Slow Down: To adjust the simulated speed to match the driver's actual pace (e.g., 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x, 2x).
Rewind / Fast Forward: To jump forward or backward along the route (e.g., skip ahead 1km, or go back if a turn was missed).
Static "Follow Map" Mode (Alternative to Simulation):
Alternatively, just lock the route on the screen and allow the user to manually scroll the map along the blue line as they drive, maintaining visibility of user-reported hazards along that specific path.
Why this is important:
Even without real-time GPS tracking, users desperately need access to the routing logic (knowing which roads to take) and the crowdsourced hazard data (potholes, accidents, roadworks) along their intended path. By allowing users to simulate their journey, they can keep the map centered on their actual location manually and stay informed of upcoming hazards, even when their phone believes it is in a different country.

Allow users to disable hazard warnings in roaming mode
Many (URs) user reports caused by permanent hazards in roaming mode - reporters are driving on highways and app will provide warnings about RR crossings, speed bumps and other hazard alerts located on the side roads.
It will be nice to allow users to disable warnings in roaming mode.Or maybe waze developers can modify/improve “algorithm” to detect speed, road type, etc before providing hazard alerts on side roads in roaming mode?

Head up display
Dear Waze Team,
Please add Head-Up Display (HUD) support for Waze navigation in Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Many modern vehicles, including the new Toyota RAV4 2026, are equipped with advanced HUD systems that can display navigation instructions directly on the windshield. It would be extremely useful and safer if Waze could show upcoming turns, lane guidance, distance to the next maneuver, and other navigation information on the HUD.
Waze is my preferred navigation app, and HUD integration would greatly improve the driving experience and help drivers keep their eyes on the road.

Fire Truck Icon
Hello Waze Team,
I would like to suggest the addition of an official fire truck and emergency vehicle icon/mood within the Waze application.
This feature could be very useful for firefighters, rescue teams, and emergency response personnel, allowing better visual representation within the Waze community.
Beyond the visual aspect, this implementation could also strengthen engagement from emergency service users and support road safety awareness initiatives.
Suggested vehicle icons could include:
- Fire engine
- Ambulance
- Rescue vehicle
- Rapid response unit
These icons could also be released during safety campaigns, emergency preparedness events, or special community activities.

Truck map
Hi Waze. It would be a great idea if you could make maps for Trucks. Bridge height, bridge weight restrictions , length restrictions. Truck stops are not priority but would be nice to have. I use car play in my 40t truck with Waze but I use tom tom too, but I don’t Like TomTom. Sadly I have no choice but to use it 😂

Animal Crossing Hazard
I tend to be on the road often and absolutely love using Waze whenever I need a GPS. As someone on the road often, I tend to notice there are many times that there are sudden animal crossings or a lost pet on the side of the road. This does tend to be on highways where many people are going very fast and are not as careful with their driving.
I recently thought of the idea- I think Waze should include a button, under the hazard category where we could press some form of “careful animal crossing” button to warn other drivers there may be a sudden animal crossing or pet walking the side of road. This would alert other drivers, allowing them to drive with more caution to protect themselves as well as the animal.
I wanted to share this idea and see if it could be implemented in the app. I hope this could work.

button cancel route stopped working
After last update while running on Android Auto, button cancel route(in left bottom corner, button with cross and remaining time) stopped working, even though I see it is pressed - UI item changes the color when pressed. Button worked fine before with the same car and the same phone. It looks like it is pressed - there is visual feedback, but nothing happens.

Create a new camera category to support new AI cameras
In Greece there are new AI camera installed on various spots in Athens. These cameras issue tickets for a plethora of traffic violations. Seatbelts, helmets, red lights, speeding, mobile phone usage etc. These cameras are now using a red light camera icon or a bus lane icon or sometimes speed camera icon. There should be a new category for those cameras that cover all the violations.

I’d like to propose a community-reported Safety Alert for situations where unusual or unclear activity near the roadway creates uncertainty and potential risk, even when the cause is not clearly visible or identifiable.
In these moments, uncertainty itself becomes a road safety issue, leading to panic braking, sudden U-turns, or drivers unknowingly entering unstable areas.
Examples include:
Sudden crowd activity blocking streets
Chaotic traffic behavior with no clear incident
Loud or alarming sounds affecting driver focus
Unstable situations where drivers begin stopping or turning around abruptly
In these cases, uncertainty itself becomes a road safety issue.
Proposed alert
Name: Safety Alert – Uncertain Situation
Icon: Orange safety whistle (universal alert symbol)
Message:
“Uncertain situation reported ahead. Stay calm, reduce speed, and drive with caution.”
This alert would not identify people, groups, or causes.
Its purpose is to encourage calm, predictable driving and safer rerouting when normal road conditions break down.Similar situations happen worldwide (protests, large events, unrest, crowd activity).
A simple, neutral alert can help drivers everywhere make safer decisions.Thanks for considering a community-focused safety enhancement.

Turn by turn on headup display (windshield)
Latest update 5.14.1.0 still does not enable turn by turn to show on the head up display (on winshield). There was a post that waze just needs to flip a switch. Google and apple maps already have it on. Wrong-Way One-Way Alert
Hello,
Request the implementation of an Alert Feature in the application that provides an immediate audio and visual warning on the map if the system detects the vehicle is traveling the wrong way on a One-Way Street.
This feature would significantly enhance driving safety and help prevent potential accidents.

Make the electric car pop-up optional
The electric car pop up shows every time I am putting in an address to go to. I don’t have an electric car and many others don’t as well. This pop-up should be removed and put under settings a person with an electric car can turn that feature on.
