Auto dimming
When not using a car charger, it would be nice to have an auto dimming option to save battery.
This would work by automatically dimming the screen to almost complete darkness when on long stretches of road without any turns. As a turn approaches or for any alerts, the screen returns to the original brightness level. This will save a lot of battery.58 votesConfigurable at Settings – Battery saver

Implement user-configurable delay (in increments of 0.1 sec) for voice alerts
Some vehicle Bluetooth implementations have lengthy handshaking which prevents the first second or two of Waze voice alerts from actually being heard. My car has a feature that ramps up the volume of a Bluetooth phone incrementally on first connection. However, the impact is that in most driving situations, the first two seconds are simply too quiet to be heard!
For example, instead of "In 500 metres, turn right onto Main Street.", all you hear is ".. to Main Street". Obviously, this information is unclear and confusing, forcing the driver to glance at the map on the phone to…

Improper hazard alerts for vehicles parked on road shoulders
In the city where I live, some roads have shoulders on one or both sides. We know that these areas are not traffic lanes, but are intended for vehicles to stop or park temporarily. However, every day, no matter which route I take, I keep receiving the alert “hazard reported – vehicle stopped.” I can see that people are reporting this incorrectly, since a vehicle stopped on the shoulder is not a hazard. This alert should only appear when a vehicle is stopped on the actual lane, truly obstructing the way. Therefore, I believe this warning should only exist for…

Horse-riding
It would be great if you could mark yourself as a slow-moving hazard for other Wazers to be alerted to on their screens as they drive.
Imagine you are riding a horse on a narrow country lane. Considerate drivers slow right down when passing riders on horseback to avoid spooking the horses.
If you could declare yourself a rider on horseback, and had your phone with you then other Waze users could be alerted to your presence well before rounding the very last corner and needing to brake suddenly.
This could reduce accidents between horses and cars.

Bus land alert for london UK and street restrictions of timings
Waze need to show when ever rider is about to reach bus lane or on a roade where bus lane is there , remind to avoid being in the bus lane.
It would be very helpful if shows restrictions before entering any street like .. 7 to 9 am we cannot enter like this . It would really impact a lot on driver skills.

Horse Ahead
An option for horse riders to mark themselves as road users for a period of time which alerts cars that there is a ‘horse and rider ahead’. It would prevent so many accidents on country lanes

the map doesn't display properly for ETA maps for long drives.
the map doesn't display properly for ETA maps for long drives. I can see the whole map for a route under an hour (not sure of distance, assume average highway speeds), but the map glitches and zooms in on IDK what when I watch someone do a drive of over 250 miles.

Apple CarPlay Audio Pause Issue
It is more of an issue than an idea.
It is a Waze app issue when it runs on Apple car play.I have a Nissan X Trail 2024 GCC model.
I daily use the app while commuting.
I also use a usb flash drive audio playing at the background.Issue: When Waze gives me alert e.g. speed change alert or any other alert

Speed cameras notification
The alert should notify 1000m before the actual place. this will give sufficient time for drivers to slowing down the vehicle instead of emergency break.

Verbal Speed Camera Alerts should be on constantly or make a button
In the UK, people loved Waze, simply due to its Verbal Alerting behaviour for everything. But a few months ago, speed camera verbal alerts were turned off if you're under the speed limit.
Not only is this dangerous but it could cause speeding tickets. Let me explain with this is problematic:
1) firstly, the main priority should be to get out eyes off the screens and on the road. It's self explanatory, if I'm constantly having to look fir the speed camera sign on the app and my eyes are off the road then this is a disaster…

Hints for navigation
During the move, I'd like to have an easier way to show another route change suggestion.
For example:
- About 1 mile to come, there will be traffic jam; Do you want more convenient navigation? The distance will receive suggestions from the application, after 10 seconds of not choosing, it can be automatically skipped.2 votes -
Enhancing Waze: Traffic Mode vs. Navigation Mode
Problem: When using Waze primarily for traffic and alert monitoring (rather than navigation), essential information like the compass, speed limit, and alert icons doesn’t appear unless a specific destination is set. (I am using ipadOS 17.4)
Suggested Improvement:
Introduce a new option in “Settings: General” called “Default Driving Mode.”
Users can choose between:
Traffic Mode: Starts Waze in full-screen map mode without the “Where to?” prompt. Provides standard map elements and access to submit/receive alerts.
Navigation Mode: Retains the current default map with the persistent “Where to?” prompt.
Consider adding a button on the map display to toggle between…3 votes -
Fix Volume bug
You can only adjust the volume (using the hard buttons) while Waze is vocally communicating with you. Between alerts/navigation, pressing the volume buttons does nothing

Map issue since the update
Hello Waze Developers,
I wanted to share some feedback regarding the Map interface that has been changed since the last update.
I use Waze in horizontal mode in my car, and I’ve noticed that I am no longer able to see my speed when there’s an alert. Previously, the speed bubble was on the left side and, even when an alert appeared, the bubble remained above it.
Now that the bubble is positioned in the middle, it seems that when an alert appears, it covers the speed, making it difficult to view. Would it be possible for the speed…

One Click Reporting Design (With Image Link)
Suggestions:
- One Click Reporting Design Suggestion with Count Down Delay Reporting.
https://photos.app.goo.gl/FVvPoytwbZ9WG9iN7
- Additionally, increase notification distance according to speed. So if a user is driving at 75 mph, they would need more time to respond than if they are driving slower. Optionally, you can allow users to set their own notifications distances. Often waze notifies you too far away or two late where you cannot react. Another approach would be for Waze to a have a "Prepare to Exit" notification... as a middle reminder.

Change the voice for police or red light camera.
I tend to tune out the monotone voice of the Waze speaker and when there is a police or red might camera I don’t register in my mind that it’s there. Would be nice if I could change specific alerts like that to be a different noise alert like a beep or a different voice.

Add slippery or wet floor alerts
It would be very useful for the driver to add slippery or wet floor alerts due to rain or oil, this helps driving safety.

Use predictive modeling to better route traffic during a major traffic event
Western Washington state experienced a major traffic event when a train derailed and shut down Interstate 5 for the whole day. 60K vehicles use that stretch of I-5 every day. I used Waze to navigate home, but a 40 minute drive turned into 5.5 hours because of the accident and using side roads.
Waze tried its best to find the best route, but the predicted two-hour drive kept getting worse and worse. Of course, there's not much historic information to know how to the side and back roads would reach to that much traffic flooding onto them, but Waze failed…
