use past traffic statistics when calculating routes
waze could save statistics about average time it takes to pass each street at different times of the day (but only on work days - not vacations or weekends where traffic patterns are different). this past statistics can be valuable when routing - today, waze could lead me through areas that are more congestion prone since at the moment these areas are quite vacant. using past statistics when routing would show that by the time I'll get to these areas, there'll probably be a congestion so other paths might be better.

Tripit Integration
Wouldn't it be cool if Waze linked to the Tripit.com API and was able to pull out all of the places I had meetings in a day. That way I could get a feel in advance for the travel time I might require to drive. Also I wouldn't have to screw around copying each address over for every trip, Waze would just be aware of the addresses.

Include a railroad crossing information on map
Include a railroad crossing information on map will permit drivers to see where a road cross a railroad and the route machine may calculate a delay when a railroad crossing exists.

"Hazard on shoulder" menu should include "Road crew"
In Massachusetts, road/highway cleanup crews on are always accompanied by a state police or sheriff's van. I would like to report the location of a road crew without having to tag it as a "vehicle stopped on shoulder" or "police visible" because neither of these options is very accurate. Can a "road crew" option please be added to the "Hazard on shoulder" menu?

Create your own waze character(mood)
Create your own waze character I think in keeping the same "waze" concept just more variety, so if it were rush hour with Hazards everywhere I could actually find my spouse in the traffic jam by a little something different

Time-based Map Topology
In Washington, DC specifically, and in other cities around the United States (and probably around the world), certain turns are illegal between 7:00-9:30 am or 4:00-6:30 pm. More challenging, Rock Creek Park - a major commuter route that is often utilized by Waze - allows southbound traffic only between 7:00-9:30 am on mon-fri, and northbound traffic only between 4:00-6:30 pm on mon-fri. Waze is unable to factor in these restrictions, and becomes of limited usability during these times. Its really frustrating for me, and my partner. Please, please, please fix this? I'm afraid one of our phones might go flying out the window.

Allow showing route without starting voice navigation directions
Their time to when you want to see the route and know how long it's going to take without actually starting voice command navigation. I would suggest adding another button in the route dialog box next to the go button or the routes button that just says "Route Only", or have a checkbox there that turns off voice navigation (so when you tap Go it just shows the route and time to destination).

Locking against editing sucks
The locking against editing of streets is very annoying. On my way to work (about 30km) i found more than 10 errors, and very often I'm not allowed to correct them. It is too complicated to set an unlock request before being allowed to edit. So how can your maps improve if the normal user is not able to correct map errors?

way to tell waze I'm in the other parallel road
Sometimes waze tells me to enter the highway when it has heavy traffic and the service road I am is much faster. Then I disobey him, but it thinks I'm in the highway and keeps collection wrong data.
I think we you could have an option that when enabled and waze can't be sure in which of 2 parallel roads I am, I could tell him he got it wrong.
It must be a single touch in the screen to alternate between the roads, because I would be driving when it happens.
This way I would generate better data for waze.

Improve road detection while navigating
When navigating along roads that have service/access roads, the navigation will want to enter the freeway/highway/tollway/etc. If the driver stays on the access road or exits onto the access road, Waze does not detect that and keeps the location locked to the planned route. If Waze wants to route you onto a freeway/highway/tollway/etc. and you do not take the on-ramp, the app locks onto the planned route and thinks you are on the highway.
It would be nice if, when there are multiple parallel roads, that the app reduces the distance over which it will snap to a road. Another clue to the app would be if, when I stop at a stop light (or 2?) on the service road, the app then gives preference to the service road instead of the highway for current location/routing. Especially if there are other wazers that are on the main highway and traveling the posted speeds.
This will also reduce possible un-needed slow down prompts/reports to other users.

User Report: option to share destination
Editors often receive User Reports (URs) categorized as “map issue” that actually refer to problems with the route suggested by Waze to the destination.
However, editors currently have no way of knowing which destination the user entered in the app, which makes it difficult - and sometimes impossible - to properly analyze the reported issue.
I fully understand the privacy concerns involved. Still, I suggest offering users, on an optional basis, the ability to share their destination when submitting a UR, especially in cases related to “incorrect address” or “incorrect instructions.”
This would allow editors to investigate issues much more accurately and significantly increase resolution rates, without compromising user privacy, since sharing the destination would always be voluntary and contextual.

Compreendo plenamente as preocupações relacionadas à privacidade do usuário.

Bring back Deer sightings on or near road. Simply , road hazard is insufficient to warn drivers.
Being back deer on side of road or in road is much better than just saying road hazard . A simply road hazard does NOT give drivers proper heads up to avoid killing the animals and possibly themselves

Adding traffic lights and stop signs like how Apple Maps and I think google maps has.
Adding traffic lights and stop signs would be amazing, it’s nice to know 1 mile In advance when driving in new areas.

Feature Suggestion: Truck & Travel Trailer Routing Mode
Hi Waze team! It would be incredibly helpful to add a dedicated routing option for trucks towing travel trailers. This feature could generate safe routes that account for:
- 🚫 Avoiding sharp or narrow right turns
- 🚧 Identifying height restrictions and bridge clearances
- 🛑 Bypassing roads with trailer or truck limitations
This would go a long way in improving safety and convenience for recreational drivers and towing vehicles. Thanks for considering!15 votes -
Please add lane guidance to the Heads up display in carplay
Please add lane guidance to the Heads up display in carplay. If we have to look at main display for the lane direction, it makes the heads up display useless. So kindly complete the heads up display support by giving lane guidance on it.

The distance for notifications has been shortened from 0.5 miles to just 0.3 miles for all alerts. Please move notification distance back to 0.5 miles or even let me set the notification within the app.

Temporary Speed Limits for Road Works
I would like to suggest adding functionality to Waze that supports temporary speed limits on road segments affected by road works. This would work similarly to the current "Closures" feature in the Waze Map Editor (WME).
Reason for Request:
This summer, we have received numerous reports from drivers through the mobile app, indicating incorrect speed limits displayed on roads under construction. Currently, setting temporary speed limits and later restoring the original limits after the road works are completed is a time-consuming, double effort for us.A "Temporary Speed Limits for Road Works" feature would not only streamline the process of displaying accurate speed limits during road work but also allow us to retain the original speed limits without needing to manually restore them after the works are finished. This would improve efficiency and ensure accurate information is provided to drivers.
Proposed Workflow:
. In WME, introduce a "Road Works" option.

a. Users can select specific road segments affected by road works.
b. Set start date/time and end date/time like for Closures. Once marked as "Road Works," these segments will display a temporary speed limit icon in the Waze mobile app, reflecting the adjusted speed limit during the construction period.
