Send a text message when delayed and/or shortly before arriving
Waze can send twitter-messages, but with the new APIs in iOS4 it could send textmessages (SMS) as well. When entering a destination for routing, one could also select a mobile phonenumber (of the person we are driving to) so that significant delays are reported automatically to this person. Also, waze could send a SMS some minutes before arriving at the destination. This comes really handy when you want to pick someone up!
When I say "automatically" - I mean that Waze pops up a dialog that you only have to confirm.

Disable/option iPhone touch-rotating map
When navigating with my iPhone I usually want to zoom in and out using the pinch movement as most apps use, but half the time trigger the touch to rotate map feature, which I never really need to use.
My suggestion: Disable this (the map will still rotate when you are heading in a certain direction, which is all anyone should need it to do) or at least have an option to turn it off.

HUD Interface
I own LEXUS NX450 F-Sport and use WAZE through Car Play. The problem is that there is no interface between the WAZE and the Head-Up-Display. For example, Apple Maps has such an interface. I think this is a must feature you have to add.

Replace unintuitive “not there” button symbol
When people are driving, symbols need to be instantly recognizable. For example, most of the report icons on the initial report display meet that requirement.
But when driving and you come across something like a partner feed alert and the app wants more info, the “not there” icon option is a stylized… purple and red, what?.. gloved?.. thumbs down hand that doesn’t intuitively convey “NO” and does not match the style theme of the other app icons. Bring back Deer sightings on or near road. Simply , road hazard is insufficient to warn drivers.
Being back deer on side of road or in road is much better than just saying road hazard . A simply road hazard does NOT give drivers proper heads up to avoid killing the animals and possibly themselves

Wildlife
Within the hazards section there should be a report button for wildlife helping warn motorists to remain vigilant, which when reported also sends an alert to the respective wildlife protection agency in that region to send a dispatch to prevent the animal from causing an accident and becoming injured. This would be extremely useful in Australia as we have an abundance of wildlife that resides near our roads .

Police (Median)
We need a “Police (Median)” alert that warns traffic in both directions on an interstate. Police (hidden) and Police (other side) don't always apply. This alert would warn traffic in both directions of the interstate or divided highway, since most police run front and rear radars simultaneously.

Differentiate alternative routes from each other by color
If you display alternative routes while actively navigating/driving, they will all be displayed in the same color. It would be helpful to display each route in a different color for easy differentiation.

Warning of approaching speed limit sign
We need to have a warning about approaching a speed limit change sign 550m ahead. Like the traffic camera warning ahead. This is very necessary so that drivers can proactively reduce speed from a distance. And the speed limit symbol can be optionally larger in size.

Extreme Temperature Crisis Response
Waze should add Extreme Temperature events to the Crisis Response process. As extreme heat events and extreme cold events become more and more frequent, citizens are going to increasingly need to find and navigate to Cooling Centers and Warming Centers that local governments and emergency planners open when the weather gets too hot or too cold. These types of extreme temperature events often put a big strain on power grids, and when temperatures reach dangerous levels, they need to quickly find shelter from the extreme temperatures. Destination preview in Android Auto
When using the assistance, waze often chooses the wrong destination. It would be super helpful to see the destination for a few seconds before the route actually kicks in. Or to be able to confirm.

Alert police on both sides of the road
Currently, waze only provides an alert when approaching police on the same side of the road. In Australia, police will check vehicle speed in both directions. Waze should have the option to provide alerts when approaching police on the opposite side of the road.

Vehicle NOT “car” on side of road
Recent changes to the hazard reporting system has it calling a vehicle on the side of the road always a car, but the majority of the time it’s not a car it seems. Why did it change from vehicle on side of road to car on side of road? It’s like the folks at Waze have never seen a truck.

Waze to take electric car battery status into account
I love using Waze, but ever since I have an electric car I need to switch to the car's own navigation system (which is not so good and efficient as Waze). Reason for doing is the fact that the car navigation takes the car battery status into account and calculates a stop-point to recharge the battery. Waze doesn't do this. Meaning, when I would use Waze I would need to use a second app or platform to check where probably I can or need to re-charge the battery. This is not so convenient.
