Locking against editing sucks
The locking against editing of streets is very annoying. On my way to work (about 30km) i found more than 10 errors, and very often I'm not allowed to correct them. It is too complicated to set an unlock request before being allowed to edit. So how can your maps improve if the normal user is not able to correct map errors?

way to tell waze I'm in the other parallel road
Sometimes waze tells me to enter the highway when it has heavy traffic and the service road I am is much faster. Then I disobey him, but it thinks I'm in the highway and keeps collection wrong data.
I think we you could have an option that when enabled and waze can't be sure in which of 2 parallel roads I am, I could tell him he got it wrong.
It must be a single touch in the screen to alternate between the roads, because I would be driving when it happens.

Fuel efficiency
It would be a neat feature if you can enter in your odometer reading, and gas volume purchased, and every gas up you could bring up your miles/gal (or km/l). You can also tie in with gas prices to get a $/mile. You can also include a stat on the amount of CO2 released per mile.

Display time stamp for waze recorded traffic.
It would be nice to see how long ago waze recorded the traffic(speed of a user). Waze tried to reroute me because it said there was traffic ahead, but I continued and where it showed red on the map, there was no traffic at all.

Improve road detection while navigating
When navigating along roads that have service/access roads, the navigation will want to enter the freeway/highway/tollway/etc. If the driver stays on the access road or exits onto the access road, Waze does not detect that and keeps the location locked to the planned route. If Waze wants to route you onto a freeway/highway/tollway/etc. and you do not take the on-ramp, the app locks onto the planned route and thinks you are on the highway.

Option to delete route
Please add an option to delete your route while keeping Waze running. Currently the only way to do this (Windows Mobile 2.0 version) is exit to Waze, restart it and quickly reply No to the resume question.

Bring back Kate (UK)
After complaining about the split personality of Kate (UK) I am told by Waze support that now Kate has been replaced by the young upstart this is the new voice of Kate. Is Kate short for Bob? (see Blackadder UK comedy for the joke reference), since new Kate is clearly a young posh male voice. I can tell you it’s much worse that real Kate since it does not know how to pronounce street names correctly. Please bring back the original Kate who I have been using forever, probably at least 10 years. By all means keep your new male…

Add information/instructions on when to add a pass
My suggestion is for the following feature:
Either:
Add an information panel when users enter the Toll and HOV passes page for the first time, informing them that adding passes may route them into areas or through restricted roads.
Or:
Allow us to add information against each pass/permit, giving the user guidance as to what each pass is for.My suggestion solves this problem:

Special Camper and Caravan App
SO much better than google, TomTom, Garmin …. Please consider doing a special camper and caravan app, too, that will take narrow roads, bad surfaces etc into consideration. Would assume to have to pay for it.

HOV only ramps and roads
When Wazers select an HOV route, because of the way HOV was implemented, any direct access ramp or otherwise HOV only road will never be suggested.
Waze needs to be able to suggest all HOV options, including HOV only flyovers and ramps.

You absolutely need to do this! Google maps lets me minimise the map so it is a floating window so waze stays open while other apps are open
Waze should stay open and minimalize to a floating window just like google maps does. I love waze but this is the one reason i still use google maps.

Add or allow to add STOP signs, some in the road are not very visible and the police hide there to abuse giving tickets.

Change Vehicle profile by connected Bluetooth
I am using my device for navigation by car and motorcycle and I regularly forget to change the vehicle type.
I would love to have a feature that depending on what Bluetooth device is connected to the phone the vehicle type would be automatically set to the appropriate one.15 votes -
Finger hold for icon placement
When placing a hazard or police location on the map, currently you have to tap on the screen to bring up the choices, tap for police, tap again for their location and then tap again to place it on the map. Why not after the first tap, if you keep your finger on the screen, automatically show the options, slide your finger to the one you want, and then once your finger is released, the icon drops straight into the map.

Account for (sporting, concert) events along the route when calculating ETA for planned drives
If you need to be somewhere at a certain time, but there is a sporting event along the way, there will be a lot of event traffic just before & just after the event. Waze could account for this traffic when calculating a planned drive. Then, based on historic data for such an event, Waze could either plan a route that avoids the traffic or it could show the ETA so you could drive past the venue during the event.
