Forests in separate layer
Forests are nice on map, but they can be really annoying when dealing with segments beneath them. Large area places can also make some slower computers struggle while editing the map.
So the suggestion would be to have a possibility to turn off forests while keeping all other places visible. Just like we have parking lots.

This looks like a duplicate of "Separate layer for natural features"

Yes, this. But also, let us turn all the different categories on and off.

I think this is a great suggestion, as the US is going to likely be using this category more and more. To expand on it, though, I think there should be a natural features parent category added to the WME layers menu that includes forest/grove, river/stream, sea/lake and island. That way editors can turn off the “base layers” when editing roads and places.
PS. Sorry, I did not mean to duplicate Richard. I didn’t see his comment before I posted.

Or better yet, a Natural Features layer that at least includes Forest, River, Island, Lake
