police: trailing/leading (in motion vs stationary)
Reports of stationary police are nice, but reporting highway patrol on the prowl with that feature is untenable.
Please consider a feature to report actively pacing highway patrol with modifier for leading (ahead of officer), or trailing (behind officer).
There should be an option to anonymize the report should one be traveling WITH- or accelerating AWAY from- the highway patrol at speeds exceeding posted limits.
Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

Is impetative to add a feature to report actively pacing highway patrol for leading ahead of police or trailing behind police.

http://xkcd.com/1425/I'll modify my comments to say the point of reporting police position is to avoid hitting them as you pass by a traffic stop. In Montana, you can be fined for not pulling as far to the left as safely possible and slowing by 10mph as you pass a stopped cruiser with flashing lights.
This kind of tracking would be enough to keep a development team busy for YEARS, likely with very spotty results. I'm talking about a team dedicated to the "Po-po Trakr" app, not a side feature in Waze. Not only is this request outside the core feature set of the Waze app, it would likely still be unfinished 50 years from now.

Maybe STOP SPEEDING? Waze devs, please don't waste your time on this when you could be fixing things for the people who aren't putting others' lives in danger.

I agree with Ana. This is a terrible idea. How 'bout you just don't "break the law". Simple enough, right? I also vehemently wish you'd take off the "Speed Cameras", since I'd like nothing more than seeing you assholes that blow through red lights be pulled over. That would tickle me pink, and perhaps your ticket income will help get some of those potholes fixed. Personally, I think Waze should work with the police and send data about you mega-speeder, narcissistic lane changer, red light offender F&$*ers so you get a letter from the police to show up at court. You "people" make commuting suck. Oh, and the same goes for people going 10 under the speed limit in the left lane. Send them to court too.

It shouldn't be any police alerts at all! Who's scared of cops? It would be better to have a criminal alert!

+10000 for this suggestion.
For everyone saying driving fast is dangerous and wont get home safely, do some research first.

Great idea. I already use the feature to mark patrol circuits

No. Never gonna happen. The only ones that benefit from it are criminals and obviously speeders. Wanna kill someone with your irresponsible driving do it on your private road with your own family members.

No way, cops are on the road to make them safer. Those who want this feature only want it to make breaking the law "safer" [for themselves]. The app should be connected to local police departments to make reporting reckless driving a streamlined experience. Those who want to go faster should write their local government to change the law, not break it when the po-po isn't looking.

It is not about going the speed limit. The system is set up for "speed traps." Its how the state makes money. Traffic generally flows at 10mph more than what is posted. Your system needs a post place for RADAR ALERTS! "PhantomAlerts" has this feature. It's in your app store. It allows us to tell everyone else when we see a speed trap or radar. And its legal to share the info. If you don't add this feature, you may lose some of your customer base to PhantomAlerts...Just saying.

Please, please, please add this feature. Have been thinking about this for months. A 2 mile lead/trail would be ideal. With those in front or behind you reporting as well this feature would keep constant watch.

Why not just adhere to the posted speed limit?

Agreed but this needs to roll them off after a while. Analyze the speed limit for the area. Mark the cop as driving and are the cop icon drive ten over the speed limit and fade off after 5 miles with no likes. It'd be very useful.

I cannot afford to spend time on my commute driving slower than everyone who is driving 25% faster than posted limits
And my family word starve if I got one $1000 ticket
The system is extremely UNJUST
